Felling discouraged but not giving up. Just need advice. Thank you

Hi everyone

I’m struggling. First week lost 7 lbs second week lost 1 lb and weighed yesterday lost nothing. Inches lost very little. Idk what I’m doing wrong but this is a mind killer. I’m not giving up just feeling extremely challenged at the moment. I’m not hitting my fats or protein because the app is taking them away as my day goes on. I’m eating the fats but in my day as I look at my progress the app seems to be taking them away as I go through my day rather than adding them all together. Anyone know why this is? Wondering if the is why I’m not seeing progress. I also can’t seem to get into high ketosis. I’m very active I don’t go over my carbs ever. Thanks in advance and support.

8lbs in 3 weeks is a great result - initial weight loss is water but then 1-2lbs a week is good and will soon add up so dont feel disappointed

I plan my days food in advance so I  hit or I am close to my macros. and then just amend slightly as I go through the day  if quantity varies as I eat.

Are you tracking fitness automatically through this app?  I have my Fitbit synced and the more I move, the more carbs, protein, etc it gives me throughout the day.

I unsync for that reason. I never used the extra. It always was taking away my fat grams and protein as I went through the day. I have no idea. I thought I wasn’t ever hitting any of it. Last two days I have been spot on with my fats protein and I don’t usually hit my max net carbs ever except two days out of 3 1/2 weeks.

Sometimes the scale doesn’t budge but you are losing inches. One thing I wish I had done when I started over 3 months ago was to take measurements. I am losing inches and can fit into clothes I haven’t been able to wear in years. It has taken me 3 1/2 months to lose 17 pounds. I feel so much better. Still have 5 more to go to reach 130.  Stay focused and stick with it. Good luck.

Hi all, I do log my exercise but turned off how they add to your calories, meaning if my goal is 1,400 and I burned 300, they up my calories to 1,700...I just added 000 to number of calories burned.  My exercise shows up but I'm not overeating just cause I exercised.

I do not add exercise or steps into the app as it subtracts calories as gives me a false count because exercise doesn’t negate calories for my metabolism.  I did half marathons and all that running burned practically zip for me.  I also can’t count on the “net carbs” figure on processed foods because, again, doesn’t seem to work for me. I stay away from all processed Keto foods and have not fallen out of ketosis since I started. I do allow myself this Fat Bombs from SlimFast but I make sure to add the full amount of carbs, not just the net. I find that using the test strips is important to make sure you weren’t thrown out. I’m averaging -10/month.

Nothing I do shows me in ketosis and I’m so lost. I don’t do any processed foods I don’t allow my watch to be connected to my app because I don’t want my exercise to add or take away anything. It’s such a struggle. Still -8 lbs down and some inches but nothing in weeks. I’m so lost for words because I’m counting scanning everything. To my knowledge eating what I’m supposed to do. This sucks really sucks :(

First off relax, your just learning what works for you. Just concentrate on hitting your macros. To use the WeightWatchers saying - If you bite it, Write it. Write EVEYTHING DOWN and you might be suprised what your macros really are. Stick with it. You will find after a while with no carbs that eating  happen more becuase if habit than hunger. THAT is where the real loss starts. I lost 42lbs in 15 weeks. It took a while for me to learn and now it is easy. Once your no longer hungry, work on closing you eating window t0 less than 8 hours and watch the scale move, it kind of fun. Every week i tell my wife "the scale hasn't said that for 20 years!". Stick withit, it's only hard at first. You can do it! You really can! I feel like a million and you can too.

Thank you all so much. I am so discouraged same weight today as 10 days ago when I posted this. I don’t have my watch connected. I write everything down because I don’t want to cheat. I have noticed clothes are more loss fitting just so meant about the scale. I’m definitely not going over anything but defiantly not hitting fats whither. So I will stick with it and figure what I’m not doing right for my body. Question when hungry what is the best snack????  I’m eating Atkins approved snacks

THANK YOU ALL AGAIN SO MUCH

You are not trying to do an Atkins Diet. Skip the Atkins bars, for keto they are not good. They have too much protein for the amount of fat.

For Snacks i eat a small salad with gobs of ranch dressing, hard cheeses, or nuts. Once you are fat adapted it doesn't take much to make the pangs go away.

When i talk to others that struggle quite often they are not eating enough fats. Fats are key in Keto. Short yourself on protein, eat a few too many carbs, but don't short the fats. I bought Macadamia nuts, pecans, and MCT oils so i can directly add fats to get the macros right. I learned a lot from Dr. Berg on youtube. Here is a video that relates directly to you concern: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGidqAr9hM0

ShowIt If you’re doing any weightlifting, you may be gaining muscle to offset the fat loss. Muscle weighs more. Also, how much do you have to lose? If not much, it doesn’t happen as quickly. Another thing, I find that too much dairy can slow my weight  loss down. You may be the same.

ShowIt Not all nuts are good for Keto. Macadamia, pecans are great. Cashews are not. Look it up in the Carb Manger app. I think pecans are like a C rating, Pecans are cheap and the are an A. Not all nuts are the same. On keto you need salt and fats so i get the Salted ones.
