Stalled. HELP

I’ve been doing Keto for 2 months and lost 15.  I’ve been stuck the last 2 weeks.  I’m 65, 5’4 and currently 182#.   How do I kick start it again?  Ordered keto sticks because I have no idea if I’m in ketosis.  Staying below 17 net carbs and 1600 calories.

  • Sounds like your body might be trying to conserve.  I had a stall similar and I had to adjust my carbs up to 40 every 3-4 days.  When I stalled out again, no weight loss or inches lost.  I just started full on Carnivore 2 days ago to eliminate some problems with the foods I was eating.   I lost 4 pounds in two days.   Found that I was consuming to many overall carbs and cheese was a huge culprit.   You can watch your net carb intake, but you should keep an eye on total carb intake as it might be a bit higher than you want.  Go watch Dr. Berry on YouTube.   His guidance helped tremendously.

    Staceyspace thank you! I don’t eat anything or drink anything with sweeteners at all. I eat 1 oz of cheese a day. I will try carnivore (as soon as I figure out what it is). Wish me luck.

  • Whenever I end up stalled like that, I do either a fast for a couple days or I do a detox. I mean, they both work, it's just a matter of figuring out what works for you specifically. Here's a decent review for a detox I've tried with success. (Meaning lost weight, wasn't starving) Hope it helps!

    Have you tried intermittent fasting? That’s how I get through stalls. I started with the 16/8 fast. Try that for a week, then try alternating 24hr fasting and for the best benefit, a three day fast is great for your body! You should fat adapted and even with a three day fast, won’t experience the type of energy drains/crash non-keto/fat adapted people do. Just drink plenty of water and add electrolytes and some salt to your water.

    Ketogenic Karl . I have done the 18/6 fasting every day except Tue and Thursday because I swim those days.  Have not tried 24 yet. I am about to head out on a 10 day hiking trip, so maybe upon return.
