  • Hello! I started today. Actually started end of Nov and did fabulous (8 pounds) until I stopped tracking and had so many people here for Holidays. Didn’t eat typical treats or holiday carbs, but clearly  need the accountability of an app as I added a couple pounds back. When left to estimating myself, I err on the side of radically underestimating. No surprise there. CW 195. GW 140. One day at a time. One tracking entry a time. Let’s get after it everyone!

I started at 188 pounds May 11, I'm 5'6, large frame. I noticed the start of my body transform on month 3, weigh in now at 173 Oct.6.

January Weighed in this morning 168, slow but sure is the last 8 pounds.

Goal weight 160 for now(oct). New weight is whatever ketogenic brings me to. I haven’t been this weight since, I don’t even remember. Keep calm and keep low carb or ketogenic everyone!

First and foremost: Thank you for the support that everyone using this app provides  I’ve been  a MFP user for years but you folks rock it like no others!

    I started Dec 7, 2016 at 203 lbs.  5’5” 57 yr old female

    CW 192

    GW 140

I know this is a large goal to attain but I know I can do it.  I was at 146 two years ago on a different plan than was clean eating but restrictive on many items including avocado. 🤨 I couldn’t maintain that restrictive eating of no red meat, no ago, no butter, etc., etc.  Since starting keto, I’ve stopped binging, quit all sugar and most sugar substitutes.  I find that I am no longer obsessing over food and my next meal.  I feel quite liberated.  Wine has always been my downfall.  Here’s my potential stretch goal....I am now seriously considering stopping all alcohol regardless of social settings.  More to follow.

After my 38th Birthday I decided to shed my post baby weight from 11/2015, better late than never 😀

I was starving the first few days but made it through, then attended 3 Christmas Parties and hosted one of them. My only cheating was with fats and protein but no carbs! I’m so happy the New Year is here and everyone I know is eating healthier,...makes  eating  so much easier!

I would encourage others fighting the scales and instead to let pics and clothes fitting be a better judgement. I was 183 pre-pregnancy wt. and I look smaller than I was before at this weight.

I never measured but I know I’m smaller. Being prepared for meals is my success story Whether for work, parties, and outings,...everyone has been great and super supportive and asking all about Keto.

    GL everyone 😀

Okay members, I began my journey on Halloween, 2017. I started at 178 lbs. Now it will soon be 3 months in, and I am happy to report I am at 159.8 lbs. I have been able to encourage my daughter and her roommate to join the Keto journey. She jumped right in after reading 3 different books and researching Keto online and on YouTube. My goal right now is 150 lbs. I am pleased that I got through Thanksgiving and Christmas without gaining weight! I celebrated when I cracked below 160! It was an exciting win. Keep at it people, this has really worked for me. I just had my gall bladder removed this past Monday. I have put this off for about 7 years, and my doctor reported that it was inflamed and needed to be done, since I had multiple stones. Happy Keto to ALL!

badmojomn Thanks for the egg salad idea! I LOVE, love egg salad and the crunchy celery sounds great! Never thought about mashing the eggs however. I can see where it would be creamier.  Will try this soon. Like new dishes to try. Right now I'm eating on a vegetable soup that I made with kale, cabbage, asparagus...etc. It tastes yummy after my surgery!

    Dear Badmojomn,

I found something interesting that I am going to try.  I moved from Texas so I have to wait for Amazon to ship this to me (I am in New Zealand). I have not tried them yet (they should be here next week) but I thought I would mention it to you because like you ILOVE NOODLES.  It is on Amazon as I mentioned.  It is called “Miracle Noodle”.  They have zero carbs and are gluten free.  I have ordered several one is called Shirataki Pasta, Garlic and Herb Fettuccini.  They come in 7 ounce packets and there are six packs for the low price of $15.49.  There are other flavours and even “Angle Hair Pasta”.

Beverly Avery Let me know how they are. I read mixed reviews on these. If I really need to have a pasta and have a complete 1 time melt down, my go to is black bean pasta or carbanada pasta. These two doesn’t kick me out of complete ketosis for a small serving. I am in complete ketosis the following evening.

  • Hi.  I just started 16 days ago and lost 11 lbs so far. A friend of mine been doing keto for a few years now and she had great success. At the same time she c stated keto I was on ww...I had great results too when I  followed their plan, lost about 45 lbs.  But I never  felt this good on ww, ever.

I should have listened to her and stated keto a while ago. Only after these 16 days my heartburn is gone completely!  My stomach bloating is down drastically and I feel energetic.

Need to lose another at least 40 lbs, but it would be great to lose like 60 lbs total. That would put me back to a healthy bmi range.

Can't wait to see what the future on keto will turn out this year.  I'm 44, but in my heart I'm still in my  20's, I wanna look like that too again! :)

Started Keto 7 months ago at 230 lbs. Hit 200 lbs in December. Very happy with my progress. I am keeping my net carbs below 20 - usually 15 gyms. Keto stick is always purple. Problem: lately I have been more hungry than nd my weight loss has stalled.  Back and foot surgery keeps me somewhat sedentary for the past 8 months. Age 72

    weight goal 175 lbs.

    Dear Badmojomn,

You were right about the “Miracle Noodles”.  They have a texture like rubber bands and taste terrible.  I wish I had talked to you first.

    Sincerely,

    Beverly Avery

Beverly Avery I know that people have posted somewhere how to make these not by the package instructions to make them more edible. I can’t remember where I found that but maybe google. Explore cuisine organic black bean pasta is what I tried and it’s a bit chewey but I do like them with lots of butter and garlic salt, as a treat in smaller quantities. The carba nada pasta is when your totally fat adapted and having a meltdown for a little pasta. The texture is fabulous- geared for diebetics, half the carbs of traditional pasta so still high for keto but I don’t eat it often.

badmojomn Beverly Avery I want to say they soaked them then did something else before cooking the miricle noodles, try googling online. I bet you will find something. I know you said you bought a few of them, but try this before throwing them out.

you’ve started taking charge and once you get the hang of it and get keto adapted you’ll feel physically better and that alone will encourage you to stick with it!

but even if you fall off the diet, Don’t fret!

Just “pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start over!” ;)

  • Hello.  I started the Keto lifestyle on 11/4/17 at 173 lbs.  I lost 13 pounds the first month and I have hit an almost 2 month plateau.  I've lost those same 13 pounds about 10 times and I've never been able to hit my goal weigh of 150.

Any tips or suggestions would be great!
