    Started ketogenic in Mayish.

    Start weight: 188 pounds

5'6. Moderate to larger frame with heavy muscles by genetics.

I do have an occasional cheat day, but rarely do I use artificial sweetners  IF after earlier dinner 3-4 pm- and until 8 am  at least twice weekly, cutting the calories most days, I don't eat if I'm not hungry.

    Currently weighing in at 169.6

    two-three pants sizes down

    Goal : 150

Can we really melt down to our goal weight? Bacon is my friend.  We shall see. I haven't been close to this weigh in since high school over 20 years ago 🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓

mamecileb When I filled the steps out under Profile, it asked how much I wanted to lose weekly and figured the carbs, fats, and protein. It had a place for your measurements and all and where to put your current weight. I would do short reachable goals instead of all 100 lbs at once, do it in 25 lb. increments.

I am recommitting again!! I have been lc (Keto/ LCHF) try to keep my carbs between 20-30  daily. Today I am starting at 248.0 - my biggest problem is that I am HUNGRY! I sit at a desk all day (even through lunch) then I get home and being UNPREPARED  I make a crappy meal.  then I am hungry again...  I really need to find the motivation to keep up the plan for 30days...  by then I am sure I will break the sugar (insulin) cycle and will see great results... any wonderful foods/ recipes that are pretty high fat and easy to pack?  any "rules or rewards" you allowed your self for the first week?  I am really hoping this chat will be helpful.

Becky Arvila desk job. Lots of tuna packs, real mayo, eat at the cafe if you want just choose low carb. Eggs, anything keto. A little peanut butter won't hurt either. My first month or two I had to eat peanutbutter. I didn't even care if it was the sugar free kind. I still was in ketosis. Month three or four should be amazing for you if you stick to it.

Becky Arvila -what an  awesome recognition you have here(!): “I really need to find the motivation to keep up theplan for 30days...  by then I am sure I willbreak the sugar (insulin) cycle and will seegreat results...” so many people have no idea this can be possible !

Becky Arvila - I do worry about this, though - and for reasons that are spoken loudly these days “I sit at a desk all day“. Have you considered some of the concerns out there now about this ? Seems even setting a reminder to get up every hour or two throughout the day, even for 1-2-3 minutes seems to jiggle us around,  re-set the thermostat etc.

Also, even very light weights lifted slowly each time up seems helpful.

Best of all to you with all of this !

OK / net 5lbs down fm start, 12 to go for goal. At 2lbs per week that should take 6 weeks. Let’s call this Week 1: — 5 down 12 to go ! “
Now: Week 4: - 4 more down, 8lbs to go. That was 1lb per week, but still drifting downward, with the last week or so a stall. Feeling great though and maintained initial gains.
Might now take 8 more weeks or 4-8, anyhow. But feeling increasingly fat adapted, and finding ways to expand diet a bit and maintain keto state.
Blood keto trending 0.3-0.7 and bouncing around within this range. “Keto belly feel” remains - tight and solid.
Best of good luck, all !

Becky Arvila I have completed my 1st month today. I am down 20 pounds.  The key for me is I keep my carbs under 20,  Food prep is your friend, as long as you have healthy things on hand and something you can grab and go it will help (cheese, HB eggs, Cans of White meat tuna in water, mixed salad greens).  On weekdays ( i too have an office job) are either a Quest protein bar from Walmart, a protein shake which consists of Unsweetened coconut milk or water 2 scoops protein powder and 2 Tbs of natural peanut butter with 1 oz of cream cheese.  Sometimes I have 1/2 cup mixed frozen berries in it instead of PB.  lunch consists of cobb salads or a grilled meat with broccoli. by the time dinner rolls around im not hungry to be honest. water is very important.  Sometimes I have a tsp of butter in my coffee in the morning with some heavy whipping cream.  weekends I'll have bacon and eggs or an omelet. mushrooms are my friend I love them in a creamy sauce over my grilled chicken.  The key is to get your fat in too along with your protein.  I'm not over doing it on my fats because I heard the amount of fat on your plate takes away from the amount of fat your body is burning.  I'm seeing if it makes a difference.  I'll let you know by next month.  I havent had any cheats, no hunger, no cravings except for something sweet once in a great while.  Then I might have a few raspberries or a diet soda.   Good luck and don't think of it as a diet think of it as a lifestyle change, as ultimately this is how your going to be eating for life "healthy"!

Hello everyone! I started my LCHF lifestyle on October 31st at 178 lbs. It been only a couple of weeks or more and I am down to 170 lbs. That though is not why I am most excited. My energy level has soared! Oh my, I can't tell you all the cleaning and little odd jobs I have been accomplishing! It is scary! What's up with that?

jameela4 Thanks for the tips on how you have been successful! I have jotted down your ideas and I glad to know those quick "Grab 'n Go" types of foods. Does the protein bar have any sugar in it?

MsLit So...this tells me that eating sugar can have a damaging effect! My husband has the REAL sugar tooth. He has sugary items all over and it's hard seeing them, but I've been determined. Been eating berries when I get the urge.

Becky Arvila I went on Diet Doctor and Rule.me websites and started printing recipes for Keto. I made a cabbage & turkey meat dish that was really good. My husband kept bragging on it. All it had was shredded cabbage, ground turkey, chopped onions & peppers with lots of butter and coconut oil. Delish. Many of the recipes I am noticing calls for items that I am unfamiliar with. I guess the longer I stick with Keto, the more I'll learn about them. I love to cook and try new dishes. Keto and giving me a chance to do this. This week, I will try to make the LC cauliflower hash browns for a side dish with hamburger patties! I am Cajun and LOVE spices, so I add them to help flavor my foods. Is there spices I shouldn't be using?

badmojomn I am having difficulty finding a way to enjoy my coffee. In the past, I would use the liquid creamers, but most of them have sugars or artificial creamers. I am trying to stay away from them. This morning, I tried the butter and coconut oil blended. Not sure if I thoroughly enjoyed it, may take me some time. Would adding honey to it be too sugary?

yatesa12 For you to be tracking so closely, I am guessing you have the Premium on Carb Manager? Please share how you do it. Only with this app? I will admit, I have not been faithful on the app daily and do not really know how many carbs, protein, or fat I've been eating. Just been following some of the recipes I've found for weekly plans. Never really felt hungry or the urge to go off. Ate cheese, nuts, or berries if I needed a snack.
