Entering Food Info

Hi All!

Just wondering what everyone does to enter the food and values once they've made a recipe.

Obviously recipes often make more then what anyone can eat in one sitting so you cant pit in all of the ingredients.

Trying to track bit having a minor struggle due to this.

Thanks muchly!

I just put in the number of servings it makes when adding the recipe.

If I'm not sure, I weigh the total,  take out what looks like a serving, weigh the serving, then divide the total weight by the serving to see how many servings the total could make.

Put that number in the recipe and see how the macros work out, adjust as necessary.  (Too many carbs? Not enough fat? Make the serving smaller or adjust the ingredient balance, do the math, see if it's a better fit for my meals.)

Put in number of servings, sometimes I guess then go back and adjust after eating.

  • I do the servings thing as well.

What kills me is when my recipe calls for 1lb of ground beef, but then I need to weigh at the end and they have all those "oz cooked" and "oz raw(yield after cooking) and I'm just like what.   Finally figured out that 1lb of ground beef renders down to 12 oz's cooked, so now I just put in oz, cooked and I still don't know if I'm doing it right honestly.
