Need to be able to edit existing foods better

For example--this food is there:

Extra Fine 73% Dark Chocolate by Ritter Sport

It says a serving is 100 grams--but a serving is 38 grams, and there's no way to correct that.  The whole package is 100 grams.  It would also be nice to be able to add/correct that detail like when you add a new food.

I'd also like to correct it to say a serving is 14 pieces/squares, and has a weight of 38 grams and the edit feature won't allow me to do that nor gives me a way to request that correction. (As a layman, it's easier to say I ate 2 squares--like I can with other chocolates in the app--than to have to find how many grams 2 squares are.)

The title is also a little off--it should be

73%  Cocoa, Fine Extra Dark Chocolate by Ritter Sport

But there's no way to fix it and I don't want to create another item as there are too many confusing duplicates already.

Another example--I was just trying to correct the nutrient value on a protein bar.

The app said calcium 150mg, 13%. The wrapper says 15%, but editing in the app I need to be able to translate that 13% into mg in order to make the correction--that's not helpful.

It also said iron is 5mg,  63%. The iron is actually 28%, and however many mg that is.

Potassium wasn't included at all and the package says 10%.

It's bad enough to regularly need to correct nutrient values on items, but to expect me to do the calculations as well is a waste of time when it could easily be coded to calculate (into gm or mg) from the standard measure listed on ingredient panels (percentages).

I've run onto this same issue on many items.

  • I agree the calculation system is not as good as it could be. The grams only go up to 100. It’s tricky to find the best combination. Better if we could enter any number as Fitness Pal does.

  • Recently there was a major update to the food database and the new source we're using has better data. I checked this chocolate bar and it has the info you specified and pieces are a serving option.
