Feeling crappy

I’m 6 weeks in and after a few rough days in the beginning I’ve been feeling great. I’m sticking with <20g carbs and my macros are usually pretty much on point. Last night I started feeling very much like I did the during the early carb withdrawal time. I took a magnesium supplement, made sure I salted my dinner well and boosted water. This morning I feel terrible-no energy, muscle aches and headache. I dipped my urine and there are moderate ketones but I’m not dehydrated-the specific gravity is low. I’ve eaten a solid breakfast and took another mag supplement. Any thoughts?

Were you ever sick before keto...sounds like maybe not diet related! You could try a carb up day ( eat more carbs for 1 day or meal ) and see how you feel next morning. Since you have been keto ling enough to be fat adapted, 1 meal or even 1 day isn't going to matter too much. Just don't load up and sugar and stuff, just some extra carbs.

I struggled with this too - I also thought I was well hydrated and that I was taking enough minerals via daily mens supplement and himalayan salt. Pain slowly built over days to the point it was unbearable. Finally got a box of ultima hydration packets, downed one and within 20 minutes the pain started going away. I went on a bike ride and felt great, then when I got off the bike the pain came back as strong as ever. Drank another packet and in 20 minutes the pain was gone. For whatever reason I've become severely nutrient depleted. Hydration packets saved me!

ejoubert06a7 How many potassium milligrams are you getting per day? We need about 4500 mgs.
