Too much protein?
I’m doing ok with the carbs. My average is around 20. However I’m not losing. (4-5 lbs lost in a month) I’m realizing my Protein is almost as high as my Fat, and several days I had more P than F.
I’ve read not to worry about the P and F and just focus on Carbs. I’ve also read to keep the P to F ratio at 2:1, while focusing on the Carbs. Can anyone explain which is correct?
My P and F have been in the 50-80 range.
Please advise! I’m so disappointed.
Thank you

linrenep Ok. I was guessing on the butter. I’ll try this soon. We are without power now (we are in VA and a huge windstorm has been upon us for about 24 hours so far- it’s like a hurricane but no rain!) and went out to dinner. I ordered the Blackened Chicken Primavera, hold the pasta, add mushroom. So it was chicken, zucchini, yellow squash, tomato, mushroom in a delicious Creamy Alfredo sauce. I had to guess when I entered the meal, but hopefully I didn’t go over too badly.

Andrew Brown I realized I’m not getting enough potassium still. If I’m not eating a lot of veg, or avacado these days, is ketogenic truly needing about 2000-3000 mg daily of supplement? I read that in a web post googling “amount of potassium needed on ketogenic”. I looked at my potassium bottle, 1 pill is only 99 mg, 3% daily value. That means I’ll need to take handfulls a day?

Have been reading this thread this morning.. great info but now I have questions... firstly, my mother started thus diet January 1st and has lost 35 lbs so far. She motivated me and my husband to try it because she has been overweight my whole life and tried every diet under the sun... and if this worked so well for her, we knew we should get on board also. We started our keto diet Feb 21st, with a rough and rocky start because of our ketogenic learning curve. This app has been such a major support to us both by the way. I'm 37, 5'10" and started at 193 lbs. Im moderately active, and down as of this morning to 168. My husband is 62, 6'1" and started at 233 and is only does light activity including exercise 3 times a week on a total gym and treadmill 3 times a week alternating both (he is retired from military) and has been down as of this week to 205, yet everyday this week he has fluxed back up to 209, 207, 208, all in a matter of 3 to 4 days. He did some yard work Monday and sweated profusely, I have oversalted his foods since then and pushed water at him.. his macros are set accordingly and other than Easter dinner (which was cooked with keto recipes) he has been following the macro wheel. Any suggestions? We don't use keto testers or strips, we haven't really had to since every week we have done so well.. didn't see the need for spending the money for testers. Secondly, my question is.. should every meal be exactly 70/25/5?? Because... we are doing it so wrong if that's supposed to be the rule.. for instance.. our breakfast is usually more fatty than protein or carbs with eggs and cheese with bulletproof coffee (butter, mct, heavy cream, liquid stevia, cinnamon) and a keto/ paleo flaxseed cinnamon muffin and bacon.. our lunch and supper is more protein to even out the macro wheel.. ham wraps, chicken, tuna, or pork chops... is this as effective as balancing each individual meal?

laurab203 mine are not the darkest but next to the darkest. I’m very new to this only 12 days in. It’s been like that over a week, I read that it was because I was dehydrated but I drink 8 to 10 bottles of water a day my chart is usually short on fat. Which I know I need more of. I also have a headache very day not all day but I do have them.
