Stevia has carbs?

I’m on day 3, very upset about my morning espresso with no calorie stevia packets.  I just read on one of the chats that you have to count those packets.  I’ve been counting the carbs in my espresso, not the stevia.  I just added my 4 packs of stevia and  was shocked the stevia put me over my net carbs.  I only get 16 grams of carbs total.  Geeeeeezzz!  How do I get around this.?  I have to have a sweetener in my coffee.

  • Oh no!😱  this news about stevia is upsetting—And I’m still trying to get over the shock that there r carbs in espresso!  The Starbucks barista (who said she’s in year 4 of her Keto-diet) swore that there aren’t any carbs in espresso.   I’m confused and disappointed 😩

All stevia is not created equal (pardon the pun).  If you read labels you will see that some have carbs and others have no carbs or no net carbs.  Erythritol (monkfruit) has a lot of fiber carbs but no net carbs.  Give it a try.

Bobbi You'd have to check labels.  I have Truvia in a 280g plastic jar green label.  It says zero net carbs, but it appears to be a blend of stevia and Erythritol.  It seems all the zero net carb non caloric sweeteners have 3-4 carbs per tsp that are not fiber nor sugar, it's a mystery what they are.  So they drive up my total carbs but have no impact on my net carbs.  Net carbs is my main concern but it's still annoying, lol.
