Bloating

I'm 14 days in and everything has been going great so far except for that day 2 keto flu. I did a 19 hour fast last night into this afternoon except for one cup of coffee with a little MCT oil and HWC. Right before I had my lunch I felt super bloated out of nowhere. Not sure what could be causing it? I had eggs, avocado, and bacon last night for dinner and I've been drinking about a gallon of water a day. Any ideas on how to help the bloating? Totally feel like I gained 10 lbs!

Keto bloating can be quite common when you first start this lifestyle for a few reasons.  One of the most common reasons is running low on fiber.  Getting the proper fiber balance is harder on a low carb lifestyle, but eating avocado as you did is a great source.  MCT oil can also cause bloating as a side effect if taken in excess.  It's recommended to start with just one teaspoon and slowly work your way up to 1 tablespoon.  Dehydration is another cause of bloating.  I know you've been drinking lots of water, that's great but make sure you are getting enough electrolytes as well.  Keto will flush sodium out of your diet really quickly.  Drinking bone broth is really great for this.

Finally, for me whenever I experience bloating, I drink warm water with a lemon slice and a slice of ginger and it has amazing effects on my stomach.  It does wonder for any intestinal issues.  Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

I get that bloated feeling on the regular. Even after fasting. I’m eating over a pound of vegetables a day. Or am I confusing this with the feeling of being full?

Slim Dog Often people can have digestive issues (bloating) when they consume vegetables.  If you find you are experiencing this daily after eating vegetables, it's recommended to consume only certain veggies at first as some of them don't digest very well.  Once your gut builds up some friendly bacteria, you can slowly add in other veggies.  It's recommended to consume veggies like spinach, zucchini, green beans, cucumbers, bok choy, lettuce etc and avoid cruciferous veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage as they can be inflammatory for some people.  Once you build up your system, add in broccoli etc and see if you notice any digestive issues.
