HELP! Low Carbs and Still Not Losing Consistently :(
Hi All!
Attached I have a chart that has been showing my daily macros for EVERYTHING I have put in my mouth since the end of December. Can anyone PLEASE explain why I still gain weight, or am not losing like I should? I keep my total carbs under 30g, and now down to 20g. still not very effective.
Is the high fat not for my body type?
Too high or too low of a protein intake?
Carbs not right for me? The totals you see are All carbs not net.
I appreciate any and all productive feedback. If you would like more details, I use the Lose It App so I have everything documented, even down to recipes of custom dishes.
Thanks in Advance :)

It looks like you're doing a great job keeping your macros close to your new goal since January 9th - and you HAVE lost 9 lbs in what, just 3 weeks? That's AMAZING- CONGRATS!!!!
My ONLY thought is whether your calorie intake may actually be a bit low? Our weights are similar, and our macro goals are similar (my daily goal is 75/20/5). I've been able to increase my calories to an average of 1400/day (though they've ranged between 1200-1600 on any given day), and have so far managed to keep my macros very close to my goal of 75/20/5 every day. This has allowed me to lose fairly steady (11.6 lbs in 15 days - I started Jan. 4th). My weight DOES fluctuate like yours though. I may drop 2 lbs one day, have no change the next day, gain a half pound the next day, and then drop 1.5 lbs the following day. All while NOT cheating, and while keeping total carbs <20 (with the exception a few days I've eaten extra salad and vegetables and my total carbs were at 25, with net carbs being at 15, which I'm perfectly okay with). I probably should not weigh every day (but that's another subject).
My thought was that I would START my low carb keto journey by allowing myself more calories to keep myself satisfied, focusing on eliminating all those nasty sugars and carbs, and that as my hunger adjusted and my cravings subsided, and as I began to feel more in control, THEN I would lower the amount of calories I was eating each day (closer to 1200/day). I hope to eventually adopt a 16:8 intermittent fasting as well (but not quite yet). I'll probably have to make a LOT of adjustments over time, I'm sure.
Anyway - I have no idea if increasing your calories a bit would be helpful, but I've seen other people also mention it. Who knows.
Or it could be that you just need to keep on keeping on, following your current plan, relax and give your body a little time to adjust, and that you'll soon notice a nice "whoosh" of weight loss. We're all so different and unique...
I wish you the very best. I think you're doing a FABULOUS job and you're having success (down 9 lbs!). You sound determined, and I'm sure you will find your body's own sweet spot and begin to see regular losses. Keep up the great work and stay positive!

Thank you so much for your encouragement! Yes, as of today, which is now 3 weeks. I’ve lost 12 lbs so an average of 4 per week. I guess it may be working but I just don’t want plateau or gain. I wish I know what I was doing right so I could keep it up and avoid what I may do to slow things or cause fluctuations. Keep in touch!

Absolutely, we'll definitely stay in touch, I'd like that ....
I told myself instead of focusing on the huge # of lbs I hope/want/need to lose, I would just take it one day at a time, one week at a time ... celebrate each pound lost. Otherwise it feels daunting! When I hit my first 10 lbs I was ecstatic. Now I'm just looking forward to hitting that 20-lb mark. And it's not only the # on the scale, I'm noticing clothes already a little more comfortable again. Knees and hips a little less stiff. It's all good.
I'm sure we'll have our share of setbacks, hit a few plateaus - I'm not sure it's possible to lose a large amount of weight without the body adjusting along the way, is there? - but we can get through them - it's a journey - I know we can do it, we'll get there! Have a great Sunday!

Jojodicori@hotmail.com have you tracked your measurements. I didn’t loose for 2 weeks...so potentially disheartening, but l knew l hadn’t cheated. And stuck with it. So glad l did. Measured myself and had lost 12 inches !,
It kept me going. I’ve also started ACV and MCT oil. And 16/8 intermittent fasting.

Newbie here. Three weeks in and I haven’t lost 1 Lb. I train with a trainer 2x weekly and walking 3 miles 5 days a week.. 17 minute miles... also I have record every bite of food! I have 30 lbs. to lose. I didn’t think I would we one of those people complaining about not losing weight. Well here I am! I’m very frustrated. Also for the last 4 days I’ve been doing if 18/6.

My friend started a low calorie low carb diet and she is stick thin now. She did tell me after a few weeks the weight would stop coming off. So every 30 days she cheats all day long. Eats whatever she wants all day. Then she starts right back up and pounds fall off again! She has been doing this diet for over a year! I just started 3 days ago and have lost 5.4 pounds. I know it’s mostly water weight, but I’m getting really excited to see where this goes.
