Calorie counting?

Do you just pay attention to the carbs you are ingesting or do you count calories as well?

  • At first I only worried about my net carbs.  After hitting a plateau, I started to watch my calories  & net carbs and I had better  success.

  • I do both but net carbs comes first, calories second, so if I'm hungry and it's a choice of going over calories or carbs, I'd rather go over calories.

I think first getting in the "groove" of the ketosis first is important. Then count calories. I have a moderate deficiency for weight loss now and I'm never hungry at about 1300-1400 calories. I have a desk job and am fairly sedentary. I also know that women tend to take longer to see any results. I'm going on 3rd month now, not 100% adhering but lost about 7-8 pounds slowly. If I kicked it up a notch with some excersize, it would be quicker; however, then I would possibly need more calories. After the 3/4 month mark, I should start to see a more dramatic difference in my efforts. My goal weight is healthy 160 at 5'6. I am  180 now. I have a moderate build. Stubborn glucose. I am experiencing some slight stomach upset in the morning or keto flu these days which I am not sure why. My charts are showing enough fat and protein. Perhaps lack of water.

I just watch my net carbs.  My daily goal is 30 or less.   The calorie intake just seems to magically  fall inline and never above. 1200 and typically around 900.  I've only been doing this for about 15 days but I've lost 8 lbs.   Not sure  what to continue to expect but it is working for now. 😀
