Killer Creamery - how do they calculate the net carbs?

Hello all,

Looking for a little help on net carb calculation with Killer Creamery Icecream. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how they come up with the net carbs. Using the proper calculation Net carb = Total carb  - [Fiber +  Erythritol ]. My calculations are WAY off from the label.  Any words of wisdom from the community?

Bekki Hi! I don’t know about Killer Creamery because I don’t eat ice cream but there are two choices in this app for net carbs. One is net carbs which is total carbs minus fiber and sugar alcohols just as you said. The other is adjusted net carbs and that is calculated total carbs minus fiber and half of sugar alcohols. Adjusted net carbs are usually used by diabetics to determine how much short acting insulin for injection per consumption.

Can you be more specific about what your calculation is? Is it on the label or in the app?

They post “*NET CARBS = TOTAL CARBS - ERYTHRITOL - FIBER - 4g ALLULOSE” .....here is what they say about allulose

Allulose kicks off our A-list line up with a sweet 4g per serving in every pint. Allulose is the new kid on the sweetener block and is actually considered a rare sugar found in nature. Despite its close resemblance to the traditional stuff, it has one tenth of the calories as table sugar. Allulose can be found naturally in small amounts of foods that you’re probably already very familiar with including figs, maple syrup, and raisins. Allulose has been shown to not have an impact on blood sugar, so be sure to subtract it (along with fiber and sugar alcohols) when calculating a product’s net carbohydrate content.

Soooooo it looks like you subtract another 4 grams from the total carbs in addition to the fiber and sugar alcohols!!!

    Hope that helps.
