Provide a deduction food item

Provide the ability when adding items to recipes or meal items which would allow the nutritional values of food items to be deducted from the nutritional values of the recipe or meal.  A check box could be added to the add ingredient form, which would deduct the nutritional values from those of the meal.  For example, add an ingredient for tomatoes which would deduct the nutritional values from a branded garden salad food item or a recipe..

I just do an edit recipe and change name slightly.  So when I have a list of ingredients I do an Add then do a Delete by the item I want removed.   Sometimes it takes me a bit to get to the right place but seems to work for me.   Also I set up a meal I call "Breakfast" because 9 of 10 days I have the same basic items.  Then after it posts I just delete the ones I didn't have that day or IF I had 1 item not shown I do an Add item

Thanks for your reply, but that is not what I was looking for. The food database includes nutrition values for restaurant menu items. Rather than building a whole new recipe, it would be easier to include that item in a recipe and then add items to deduct from the values. So, if you order a item at a restaurant that includes rice, for example, you could easily "add" an item to the log, recipe, or meal to deduct the rice from the values.
