How do you gradually ween yourself off of Keto

  • I’m not sure you “ween” off - when I reached my goal weight I started adding some fruit that is relatively low carb such as berries, etc... I don’t think I’ll ever face plant a plate of pasta again :)

    Yeah, hit my target the first week of Sept and have been adjusting my calorie deficit since then trying to stabilize my weight.  My carbs are still at 5%.  Maybe one day I'll up it to 10%, maybe not.

  • Test your carb tolerance level.  You may be able to eat significantly higher carbs with little to no change in weight.  However I’d suggest staying <50g carbs for a good while, for longer fat adaptation and metabolic flexibility.  In long term, low carb healthy fat lifestyle not diet.

    Adding more complex carbohydrates like veggies is a good start.  Yesterday, I had 3oz of baby lima beans for a 12 gram hit on carbs.  Something I couldn't have fit in on the down slope.
