Not sure how much to eat

And would love to have a buddy to chat with and have support and some flat out HELP!! Lol

    Hi Monique I am on day 104. I still am learning what to eat to make my macros.  Each day a struggle. But it is because I don't eat the same foods everyday.  It would be so much easier if I did.

  • Hi Monique, I'm not far off. I'm 43, 215 lbs and 5' 8". New to Keto and this lifestyle. I found reading the Obesity Code was super helpful. I was getting really frustrated with the different views of what you can eat (beans or not/sweet potatoes or not). I really like how those choices are explained in that book. At the end of the day, I decided I have to eat in a way that makes sense for me long term. So if including beans (which have lots of fiber and are easy to prepare/store) works for me, I include them (but in limited amounts)! Happy to be your sounding board.

    that will help you figure out how much you should eat. You’ll need to recalculate every month or two as you drop weight. ☺️

    Good morning. I think we're in a pretty similar boat. I was 58 until midnight last night and now I'm 59. I'm 5 foot 6, on September 25th I weighed 245 lbs. This morning I weigh 208. With only a few exceptions my keto journey has been relatively easy. My biggest hurdle is eating out, which is one of my primary social activities. I live alone and struggle with depression, so giving up going out with my friends would be much worse for my health than being fat.  But other than finding a way around restaurants' sensible efforts to fill up diners on cheap carbs, I've found the keto diet easy to adhere to.  How it's it going for you?

    Hi I'm about the same as I will be 50 next Monday. I started at 170 I'm down to 161 however, my weight goes up and down daily. I am always within my macros, but struggle to lose any more weight. I've been doing keto since Nov 13 2018. I was really hoping to reach goal by my birthday.

  • How are you doing, Christi? You might want to recalculate your Macros every month. Premium does it automatically as you lose weight. I have 65 lbs as my goal to lose, and am since Thanksgiving down 21 lbs. I've hit lots of plateaus on this diet, but keep my eyes on my end goal, so I hold on until I push through. I'm not focusing on a time limit (which I did at first) because as I see myself losing, I am constantly encouraged, and know this diet works, so it will continue to work. I can see it as a lifestyle. When I get to my goal, I will make some adjustments, but will keep on with this style of eating.  I probably need to drink more water, and I am thinking about exercising, which will add to my loss. If this diet in fact helps to retain muscle, then plateaus just tell us that it's still working, but that the muscle weighs more than the fat does.
