Heart arrhythmia and Keto

Hi all, I’ve been on the Keto diet for almost 2 months now and I’ve lost 24 lbs. I was wondering if anyone out there has had a problem with heart palpitations particularly premature ventricular contractions (PVCs). I started having them about 2 weeks ago. I’ve been to my doctor and he said that it was common to have them and that they are benign. I started taking magnesium supplements and potassium supplements but I’m not sure if the dose is sufficient. My doctor was ok with me taking it but I’m not sure if he knows the proper dose to take. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  • My husband has a fib. He has had several procedures to try to correct it but none have worked. He lives with it. It maybe hereditary also (his uncle has it & dad found out he had a fib almost a year after my husband was diagnosed) the only reason they caught my father in laws was because he was going to have surgery and he had to have specific tests done.

  • Also Brazil nuts have a lot of magnesium (and are keto friendly) 1 nut has 19 mg if you would rather get your magnesium from food.

  • Mrsotwaska Brazil nuts are fantastic (my favorite nut), but consumption should be limited to about 4 nuts per day due to the risk of selenium toxicity.
