Caloric intake

lately I have been eating two meals a day and noticed that I am having a hard time hitting my caloric intake (1300). I feel full through out the day so I am finding it hard to eat more. I am usually in a deficit. My protein and fat are pretty close to my goals. How important is it to hit the calories? Any tips or strategies on what to do?

Not important. The rule for keto is only eat if hungry. If really low on calories (400-500 ) everyday I might try more healthy fats. You don't want to wreck your metabolism.

  • linrenep  thanks! I think I am getting worried because I am also loosing hair. From my searches I know that it goes in hand with the amount of calories you consume.

lowcarbdieter4a5a I’m loosing hair even hitting calorie goals. Like, I have lost close to half my volume. Apparently this can happen with ketogenic, and takes possibly a year or more to straighten out. Hopefully I don’t have to start a hair regrowth system because I’m never going to give up Keto, but I also don’t want to be so thin you can see my scalp.

  • Calories are important so that you don't put your body in starvation mode. However, when are are talking about your caloric intake being low do you mean what you are eating or the totals minus what you worked off? IE my target calories are 1714 cal per day, yesterday I ate 1550 cal but with the amount I worked off my net shows as -94 cal.  Which is completely fine to me.
