Too little protein

Hi! Having trouble getting to my protein of 75g daily. Fat and net carbs good. Calories a little under.

Looking for suggestions. What’s a good higher protein fat?

Thanks!

  • You should try avocado;most fruits primarily contain carbs, avocados are loaded with fats. and also try eating cheese. Cheese is great source of calcium. Dark chocolate is one of those rare health foods that actually taste incredible. It is very high in fat, with fat at around 65% of calories.

  • I'm still having this problem.  Struggling with fats and protein.  I always feel full.  Perhaps I'm a little "backed up"....  I've lost 8 lbs in 2 weeks so maybe I'm doing something right?  But I'm worried about too little protein...

Too little of protein can lead to muscle loss but I’d say as long as your eating .6g per lb of body weight you should be good. Anything under and your risking it a little..

im actually the opposite I’m eating to much protein.. which can also be a bad thing if you start eating to much protein than it can convert into glycogen which can knock you out of Ketosis.

You could try eating more eggs or add some low/no sugar protein powder to some water, l/c smoothie, or coffee if you drink it. Most protein powder has about 25gs per scoop!

  • I have trouble hitting protein goals as well. I'm thinking of getting a sugar free protein powder so I can do a shake on days when I'm too far below my goal of 90g. I'm 171 cms so I worry about not getting enough protein.

Its ok to run short occasionally. Try hard boiled egg, pepperoni slices, hamburger or a chicken thigh or breast (I cook about 6 at once and keep them in the fridge for a snack).
