Do you notice more scale loss or inch loss?

So I am starting my 2nd week in keto. Keeping under 20g daily, calories seem to be staying in the lower range except for one day 😬

I was down 4 lbs in a week which is AWESOME for me but I was wondering if you all notice more loss on the scale or if you seem to lose inches more? Just some encouragement is what I'm hoping for that I'll drop some pants sizes even if the scale doesn't move much 🙃

Inches for about 4 months. Scale don't move a lot. Remember, fat doesn't weigh that much. Put the scale away for awhile 😊

  • This is my second week of keto/low carb. I go back and forth. I lost 7 lbs the first week. Gained a lb back, and haven’t lost any weight in a week now. It’s dicouraging. I also haven’t measured but I feel that my shirts are a liiiiiittle looser. My husband isn’t even sticking to a certain diet and ate a freaking baked potato last night and is down 10 lbs.

If you are like me, you will hit plateaus for weight loss. badmojomn told me to put away the scale and look at body changes. If it hadn’t been for that good advice, I might have given up. The scale has started moving again and I’m getting into clothes I haven’t worn in three years.

sdesrosiers1 Make sure to drink lots of water! You will need the extra hydration once you shed the water weight(as well as electrolytes), and if you can, a light walk will help deplete your carb stores. I recommend fasting in the mornings until 11 as well. Tiny fasts help propel you into Keto. I wish you best of luck! Hang in there, you're gonna feel great!!

amiemcelyea2692 Men lose weight faster at first, but overtime women lose more steadily and the difference evens out, focus on your progress and you'll catch up (if not surpass haha).

It really depends on the day, I notice I gain muscle REALLY easily on this diet, so if I work out on this diet sometimes the scale bounces up, but my jeans will fit better and in week of not working out (when I start to lose muscle mass) I will lose weight rapidly.

I feel so much better. I lost 9 whopping lbs my first week. Then gained a lb this week and have been discouraged all day...so I'm hiding the scales and getting a measuring tape! How does the fasting work? Any specific instructions or just don't eat?

I’m only on week 2 and have lost 5 lbs but I feel so much better. My pants feel a lot looser. When I measured myself I was down 2 inches in waist and 3 inches in my bust. I have a long way to go so hope the weight starts dropping more quickly.

  • Personally I lost both at first. The first month a total of 17 lbs. The last two months not as much but doing more on inches. So far 25 lbs total even with the ups and downs.

  • I notice the weight loss just by feel if that makes any sense?  I mean I wake up in the morning and feel slimmer, heaps slimmer.  And I know I lost weight overnight.  But often the scale is the same for a few days and then suddenly drops like a whole kg or half of one.  But the scale is slower to register it.

  • I'm like everyone else here: lost  a lot during the fews 1-2 weeks, but it has slowed down. I'm always losing about half a pound a week. But . . .  the way my clothes are fitting far out weighs the measurement of the scale!  I started January 15th and now it is 3 months later. I have gone from a size 38 in pants to a 34.  I have also started incorporating IF but I'm going to tighten the window to a 20:4.

  • I’m in the same boat! I’ve been super strict about my carb intake and fat/protein/carb ratio and I haven’t moved a pound in over three weeks! I am discouraged but like this way of eating and I feel better. I really want this scale to move and it just won’t! I started this about 3 1/2 weeks ago and my Keto sticks are super hard to read- could be faint pink? Or could be the negative.... kinda frustrated and have no idea if I’m in Ketosis! Any advice?

  • ashsmith I read that as tiny "farts" will help propel you into ketosis 🙈😂

My friends and I did a 21 day challenge, we just finished and I noticed that I had more scale loss and they had more measurement loss...everyone differs, keep up the good work!

I lost 7 lbs in the first 5 days ——- then I freaked when even tho I was following strict macros the scale went back to  2 lbs!!!  Water is a huge factor and I noticed that my jeans were not as tight and kept going ...now in wk 2 back to -7lbs... I guess the thing to remember is that your body is going through a pretty significant change and IT is freaking too! Give it time and hopefully we will begin to see more consistency as we go along 😁👍🏼
