Dizziness on Keto

So I notice sometimes I will get these dizzy spells and somewhat of a sour stomach. Is this a sign of ketosis? Or something else. 

I’m one week in.

    I had all the above and then some for a long time. I made sure I took mineral supplements and potassium. Eventually it passed. Google the symptoms of keto flu. I think there might a huge list of them. And pay attention to your ketone levels when you feel the poorest. They always went hand in hand with me. Some day when I have time I'll post my supplements but I thought I did that her a long time ago. I googled all of my info I needed and YouTube.

  • badmojomn  I got some ketosticks and used it once but didn’t look like I was. Idk when you’re suppose to test and I read the the urine test isn’t always accurate. How else do you know? I’ve been taking a vitamin supplement and forgot this morning. Maybe that’s why. Felt better after I had some salt and water. And a cup of coffee

    tawnylm835f8d If your not turning a urine stick at least a pink, your not in ketosis. Anytime of the day is okay, preferably evening time. Somewhere your getting to many carbs for ketosis. Stick to Whole Foods, meets, cheese, heavy whipping cream in your coffee and in your scrambled eggs. Too much protein turns to glucose and will show on a stick, chicken can possibly do this. . Blood test is best. Precision xtra ketone meter with the finger stickers and lanclets is best. It will help you motivate a bit better. Turn down the protein to 4-5 ounces and up the fats. Avacado a day, etc.  Most people can turn that stick within a few days if hardcore. If your sneaking anything mindlessly, it will show. I say this all with my own experiments over the last months. Remember too many nuts can do this also. Breakfast - eggs and bacon. Lunch tuna and real mayo, piece of steak dipped in butter, very small salad. Dinner pork chop fried in butter with side of low carb veg.  Don't over eat- just till satisfied. Pecans or macadamia for snack - very little. Avacado smashed with garlic salt. Hard egg, bacon left over. Pork rinds dipped in your cream or creamy low carb dressings. If I am having a bad day I mix cream cheese with a seasoning and dredge my pecans through it or Mac nuts. Report back after a few more days. We need you turning that stick at least pink. Mine was dark red almost black once I was in ketosis. Evening after work or before dinner is prob best time. You could have a bad batch of keto sticks also. Get another brand or another bottle. Where I am they are roughly 6$. Blood meter is best however.

    tawnylm835f8d get some Whole whipping cream for that coffee. Drink as much as you can in there. Scramble 2 eggs with 1 T Whole cream with 2-3 slices of fatty bacon. Don't cook the bacon so long that fat cooks almost off. Then put slab of butter on the eggs with salt. This is almost a daily breakfast for me. And yes. I do eat regular nonketo ketchup or salsa on my eggs.

    turns out my numbers were off with this app. So I adjusted them and a good day yesterday.  I heard morning test would be good but you say evening? I will get whipping cream. Never buy it but guess I can lol.

    tawnylm835f8d everyone is different. I urine tested morning and before dinner. Your on the right track. My sticks were different colors and darker in evening before dinner. Keep it up. Aim to turn the stick really dark.

    badmojomn This is great advice! Thanks for the tips here. After I get a feel for this, I may break down and get myself checked out for ketosis, but I'll need more step by step how to do it. Not great with needles.

    pnhale just go to local pharmacy and ask for ketosticks to check urine ketones. ~6$

    So, dizziness is par for Keto or just once and a while
