Ketogenic friendly chocolate OMG

I just got my Keto friendly chocolate in the mail. Choco perfection. All I can say is oh boy, this is the stuff. Creamy texture- the orange was amazing. I started with the sample packet. I hope I don’t over indulge.

  • Beverly Avery Out of the sample pack, I found the orange and the dark European was the best. The milk choc was good but I can definatley taste the chickory root. The raspberry was good. That’s why I tried the sampler pack, figured great way to start. Don’t eat to much though at one sitting- it can cause some digestive issues. Pretty hard to do when the whole bar is 2 net! I’m trying to keep it to a square. So satisfying.

  • Beverly Avery I actually have a sample of the hazelnut choco polo coming, ordered right from their website.  I saw the review on YouTube by the Keto connect couple. If you head over to YouTube type in Keto connect, find the couple and can then type in reviews after the name or go straight to their video uploads. I actually was having coffee one morning and decided to watch several of their reviews on “Keto boxes” they would send to them with multiple items to test and try. I have to say they are brutally honest in their reviews which is great. I tried the Keto snaps , which is a thinner Disc cookie made with almond flours. 1-2 net carb per cookie and they taste fairly decent with hint of vanilla. Pricey though. I am a fan of beef jerky so I ordered the Keto Carne spicy per their suggestion. No sugar added. I have to hide that from my daughter unfortunately. It’s really tasty sliced jerky and not awefully hard to chew.  They also do reviews on a couple of Keto or low carb/ paleo wraps. I’ll let you know how the choco polo is. The Keto connect girl said bang for buck with net carbs she liked the choco perfection but liked the taste of the choco polo better, and so did he. Hazelnut is what he said to try so I’ve got it on the way. Stay tuned !!

    I can see where you wrote me in my E-mail.  I cannot find your letter in this app.  It is entitled “Carb Manager Low Carb & Keto Forums”.  Please tell me how to find letters to me on this app.

    I can stay 80mg/ld when eating veggies like broccoli, floured deep fried mushrooms and floured deep fried squash. If I cut veggies out and go straight meat (even if floured and deep fried) I can remain in the highest purple for as long as I like.  Dr. Atkins said there were three types of resistance

    1. People like my husband who cannot get into ketosis at all

    2.  those who can get into ketosis if they are very very strict

    3.  those like me who can flour their food, eat all the meat they want, etc and              have it pretty easy.

    I have done this diet before and remain in the purple for as many months as it takes.  (After my first child I had 75 pounds to lose to get back to my weight of 125–it took a few months) If I could not stay at least 80mg/ld I would be disappointed. For January I had a total of 310 carbs.  310 carbs divided by 31 days is an average of 10 carbs a day.  I am never hungry. Remember most meats are “0” carbs. I eat a lot of fatty foods like salmon and pork belly.  The only thing I count are carbs. 

    IMPORTANT:

    Dr. Atkins stated, “ As long as you are controlling your carbs, the calories from fat are used directly for energy and are unlikely to be stored in places like your belly, hips, thighs or anywhere else you would rather not  carry extra pounds.”

    He also stated, ”along with protein, fat helps you feel full. Since the fat carries flavour, it makes food more satisfying.  It takes twice as many CALORIES from refined carbs than from fats to provide the same level of fullness, which makes fat a better choice if you want to lose weight. Dietary fat also SLOWS the entry of glucose into your blood stream, which keeps your blood sugar in check and means you’re less likely to be as hungry after eating fat than you’d be after eating refined carbs.”

    I do not understand why you are cutting your fats until wood season comes.  Maybe you are not doing Atkins.  I am following Atkins without the induction periods.  I just go straight to it.  Are you doing a different diet?  I notice that this diet is called the KetoGenius Diet.  Well if we are doing different diets I still love this app.  It has helped me immensely, and I am extremely happy to have met you.

    I am mostly bedridden right now with a herniated disk and I still follow the Atkins diet. I am not allowed to do my row machine.  I am allowed to walk a little. 

    I have bought Keto sticks that were not very sensitive.  I have tried 3 types.  I tried them all at once for several days and I found that the best Keto stick is made by Bayer Health Care and called Ketostix Reagent Strips for urinalysis (Ketone Acetoacetic Acid) and Glucose.

    Please remember to tell me how to find your messages in the app (I am useless with computers).  What is “wood season?” Did you get my message about the carbquik?  Do you know anything about it?

  • Beverly Avery I’m not sure what you mean by the letter, it’s been a long week for me. I’m following ketogenic and I’m not hungry much. What I’m aiming for is to force my body to utilizing my glycogen stores by cutting back on extra added fats. I eat fatty meats also. When I force my metabolism to use the stored body fat, it will melt theoretically. If I get hungrier then I up them fats. Wood season is cutting wood, hauling and stacking, which requires a significant amount of energy depending on the temps here. On the Keto sticks, I eventually didn’t turn those dark purple- lighter pink-about 5-6 months in- I’m using my stores and burning them. When becoming fat adapted for months, the body spills less ketones. That’s kind of why I got the blood meter also, it’s a bit more accurate. I know I’m always running .5 or over now and if I have an extreme amount of fat in a day, the ketone spill can go up for me. If what your doing works, that’s awesome. Dr. Atkins has a class action lawsuite  going on for basically false advertising products. Im not saying he isn’t a genius to fixing our obesity issues, but I do steer clear of those products now. When I followed Keto years ago, I only had about 25 pounds of fat to take off and I bought their products and followed it religiously only to take off water weight. I shoot for Whole Foods now, and I cook a lot of things I can reheat. I’ll be weighing in, in about 3 weeks and see what happens with the decrease in extra added fats. I’m not active much now so I don’t need them.  My brain is getting fully fueled by my body fat and I feel absolutely fine except my ph is off. Meat is acidic and I’m using probiotics for women and a spirulia from Hawaii, along with shots of apple cider vinager- I have to say I do feel better even after a couple of days. Keep up the great work, it appears you have a great understanding of what ketogenic can do for us, and how to manage the lifestyle. You definitely did your research. I was and still am an open book on the topic. Im learning something new each week.

  • Try Lily’s Chocolate bars and chips. Sweetened with stevia. I buy from luckyvitamin.com best pricing on most of the keto items I buy.

  • First I want to thank you. You have posted comments that have really helped me understand and stay on track. In 6 weeks I've lost 28 lbs. However I didn't lose any for over 3 weeks in the middle and was losing heart. You were an inspiration to keep at it. (That and all the money I've invested in a apps, foods etc). That said, I love chocolate but I'm a little afraid if its that good I could easily over indulge. Sometimes, for me its better to not have any than to take the first bite. I'm not a 1 cookie girl, I'm eat the whole darn box!

  • linrenep Maybe just get a couple of bars. I put mine in the freezer. At any rate, I can have control with these because if I eat more than 1 row, I get well, major stomach and intestinal issues that are not pleasant. 🤮
