New to Keto diet

Just bought the book "Craveable Keto" last night..wanting to start right away I had a breakfast burrito made with eggs, splash of whole milk, and cheese..thinking all I had to do was "count" my carb from the torrilla..looking further, after I ate it noticed the foods to avoid section..saying to avoid all wheat products..oops! I think I already blew it? so, no white flour torrillas?

  • No. No whole grain tortillas either. No sugar, starch, grains, root vegetables or artificial sweetners. Look at dietdoctor dot com for clear food examples. Of course, you can use your carbs on a flour tortilla, but then you won’t have any left for nutritious vegetables which you should be using to fill your carb macro requirements.

No milk either, only double (heavy) cream as too much sugar. Sugar free almond milk is okay but again, check before eating and mark this down as a learning curve. Keto is not something to do on a whim, you need to gasp the basics to decide if this is for you. Yes you lose weight but good health is what most of put first. You need to look into all the electrolytes you need to support your transition from sugar/carb burner to a fat burner.
