New and Need the forums for support
Hi all! I鈥檓 brand new (day one) and I can already tell I鈥檓 going to need some support! I鈥檓 37, female from Nebraska, United States. I have a 13 year old son and a 5 year old 馃惗. 50 g net carbs is my max. I started this way to get a feel for things. That is about 8% of my total calories. I鈥檝e heard others say to go lower, especially when starting but I can鈥檛 even imagine that right now. What are everyone else鈥檚 macro goals at? Where鈥檇 you start?

Welcome. I am a 52 year old female with hypothyroidism. I started at 1170 calories, 27g net carbs, 72g protein, 90g fat. I usually eat close to my calories. My net carbs are usually less than 21g. Protein varies, sometimes over by 10g or so which I鈥檓 okay with. Fat is always under. I started this lifestyle at the beginning of October. So far I鈥檝e lost 15lbs, but there have been weeks where I didn鈥檛 see any change on the scale. I鈥檓 just trusting the process and sticking with it. Besides I鈥檝e seen non scale victories such as more energy, no bloating, better focused throughout the day and no cravings. All of these also help to keep me committed to this new way of eating.
