Down 68lbs, 13lbs away from my goal weight and my weight is coming off extremely slow! Help!

The last 2 months my weight loss has become very slow, only about 3 pounds. I'm practically stalling completely! I do Keto (started July 2019) and IF. My starting weight was 217 I'm now at 148. I'm 5'6 almost 5'7 and 36 years old. I take MCT, Biotin and collogen. Excersize, drink all my water and adjust all my macros as weightloss occurs. Is there anyone that has experience with weight stalls close to weight goals? How did you start losing weight again?

I can relate, I had such a slow crawl to the finish line it was painful after the steady 2 lbs a week I had been doing.  This seems to be just how it goes.  Maybe start that morning drink of water with 2 tsp apple cider vinegar and 1 tsp fresh lemon juice in it.  Dr. Berg showed that he does that in one of his videos...can't remember if it helps with stalls but it would improve digestion for sure and maybe that helps your stomach burn through food better?  Good luck.  Rooting for you!

My understanding the body adapts and it becomes harder to loss weight as your metabolism slows down over time.

I read many theories about the plateau, it might happen because you loss both fat and muscles so to increase your metabolism you need to build muscles back.

another theory is fasting for a long term might already slowed down your metabolism so the amount of calories that your body burn is reduced (muscles should help hopefully)

i’m in the same boat and I’m working on building muscles but it is hard right now with the lockdown.

Ah85 Thank you for your ideas about getting the last few pounds off.  In the end, I just stayed on the program and eventually I reached and in fact now have exceeded my goal :-) I did notice that baking with almond flour stopped my weight loss, I would think because there are carbs in almonds and once ground up, just a tiny amount of almond flour is a days carbs, so if I ate a burger bun and a cookie I was hooped for my days carbs.  Now that I'm slim (yay) I eat whatever I want (staying on a ketogenic diet for life) whenever I want.  I view bread and pizza as a plane ticket back to where I was at (obese) so have no desire for those foods anymore.  I struggle to consume enough food some days, so bizarre after a lifetime of trying to restrain myself.  It's amazing.  As for the muscles thing, I agree.  I did lose some muscle mass and am struggling to want to work on rebuilding - I like running around town, but not "working out".  I'll work on that!  Definitely build your muscles back.  You'll look better as a result and that's half the reason for doing keto, beside gaining good health.  Take care.

Gingerseed Thanks!  I'm evidence that you can all do this.   I did it literally sitting on my duff.  Barely moved.  Bought size 28's today and want to hear similar from lots of you asap!

MrsSunshine OMG me too!  I'm my high school size again and I'm 54 yrs old.  Styles have changed or I'd be wearing my 80's stuff that conjures up a vision haha.  You can and will do it too.  Super easy but stick to cooking all your own foods, make your breads and minimize store bought dressings etc.  That's the commitment to good health and good looks I have found, is getting away from convenient prepackaged stuff and building time into your day for food prep it's time consuming but worth every minute.  Try and make a bunch and freeze breads and pizza crusts while the local cauliflower is available.  Also check out Keto in the Country.  Two ladies with some simple yummy recipes.  I love their vegetarian recipe for "Unbelievable Yellow Squash Souffle" which is really just squeezed grated zucchini mixed with 4 eggs, 1/2c cottage cheese, 1/2 c cheddar or parm or any hard cheese and some herbs and a bit of b. powder to fluff it up a bit.  Bake a full hour (gotta get the remaining moisture out).  Anyway post again in a couple months I love seeing newbies progress!
