Meeting Macros and in Ketosis but No Weight Loss. Help!
Hey everyone.
I have been doing Keto for the past 3 weeks. I lost 5 lbs the first week, which I assumed was water weight, but since then I have only lost 0.5lbs. I am consistently hitting my macros (I occasionally go a little over on protein but only by about 5g). I am always way under on net carbs and consume less than 50 total carbs a day. I weight and messure everything and track all food or liquid that passes my mouth. I check blood ketones in the morning and evening and they are often around 0.8 and as high as 1.8 so I am in Ketosis. Yet, despite all of this the weight is hardly moving. I am loving keto because I feel full and healthy but I am disappointed with the scale. Any help or advice about what is going on or where I could improve would be greatly appreciated.

At 3 weeks in even though you are in ketosis you are not yet fully fat adapted. Same thing happened to me. This is what I did to start losing weight. Lowered carbs to under 20g TOTAL, upped my fats to 75% of daily intake, ate when hungry, didn’t count or limit calories, minded the electrolytes and got enough sleep. Once your body learns to use fat for fuel you can slowly lower your fats and test your carb limit. And have patience! Good luck.

Our bodies are all unique and different. I know you aren’t going to want to hear this but give it time. If you’re in ketosis and eating good food you are getting healthier. Weight loss is a side effect of being healthy.
I’ve been on keto 2 months and lost 12 lbs. Sounds like I suck at it. But I’ve gone from a size 10 to a size 6 and I lost more than 5 inches off my waist. Losing fat doesn’t mean losing weight every day. -
Justjane wow that is amazing. Congrats on your success so far. I got on the scale today and there was a 3lbs loss so that makes me feel better. I guess my body is just slow to catch up. I am going to keep pushing hard regardless of the scale. I might even just weigh myself once every two weeks so I don't get too discouraged. I will probably take measurements too as it sounds like that may be a more accurate representation of the hard work being put in. I just booked my first ever vacation for my husband and I as an anniversary gift next year so I have to reach some of my health goals by then to enjoy it to the fullest. Thanks for your input and telling me your story. It helped tremendously!
