On keto in Canada
Hello, I would like to introduce myself, I am from Canada and I have been on the Keto diet for the last week.
I purchased the urine keto strips and it says I am in keto for atleast the last 5 days. I'm 6'5" and 380lbs, and figure I should be 250lbs.
A few cheats is I splurged and had a whole caramilk one night, then 4 days later had half a caramilk. I cheated again by going to Subway having ranch salad, chicken one day but sliced meat 2 other times and the sparkling water Bubly.
What I am amazed at is no hunger, I used to snack all the time at night, eat all throughout the day, breads, pastas, choc milk, junk food. I've been pretty good on keto foods, reg hamburger/cheese and mustard, sausages and mustard, more cheese. Asperagus, mushrooms and peppers with chicken I made 3 times now. Chicken is protein.
I just havent been losing weight. I dont count amounts for 75% fat, 20% protein, 5% carbs. Dr. Oz had a lady on saying portions comparing to hand size. Its easy to cut carbs, but the protein/fat mix maybe is whats getting me. Not into eggs yet, have been in the past. Eggs and hot sauce. I dont count calories, I look at carb counts, I try to eat at 5pm and snack at night (2x pep. sticks, 3 slices of cheese), testing urine keto everyday, first thing in morning and at night. Always half or above always in keto, pee stinks sometimes. I started casual halfass physical activity, riding ebike. Gyms are closed, so I figure I need to break a sweat to burn calories and fat, bought hockey stick and bball. Hit the school rink for a session.
My scale will sometimes fool me, Might be what I eat, but somedays its 376, other times its 380lbs. I think I should study more portion sizes to get 75% fat, 20% protein, look more into what foods have protein, not into fish/seafood as I picture mercury and tiny plastic particals.
So not fasting but modified meal times is what the online keto gurus call it. Big meal between 4-6pm then a light snack at 11pm to midnight. Drinking lots of sparkling water. Today was actually Mr Sub with Keto bread, rst bf, chdr and a Bubly water, 6pm was 3 sausages then pep sticks and cheese at 11pm. Thats my usual routine, meals I listed previously.
Any advice you can give me to lose weight?
