A shopping list that is useful & syncs with phone

The generated shopping list should:

1.  Be saved until you are done shopping (and then allow the user to delete it)

2.  Synchronize to other devices (I.e. phone) 

3.  Allow user to check off items purchase while shopping (see Grocery IQ and Listonic)

4.  Allow user to delete, combine*, add items

5.  Total the quantity of same items needed 

As it stands the shopping list is too ridiculous to be useful.  

*Because so many recipes choose similar but different products, you get a lot of situations where the same thing is listed multiple times (ex. Egg, Raw Egg, Eggs, Whole Egg).  You need to easily drag an item over another to combine it.
