Diet Coke

Why is it suggested we can't drink diet Coke instead of water?  I hate water straight up!

I allow myself Diet Coke with meals. And just make sure that I drink lots of water between. If you find yourself stalling out, cut it out for a few days, then go back. I also drink Powerade Zero, Gatorade Zero, unsweet Tea with Splenda. So far still losing.

  • The artificial sweeteners in diet coke cause a spike in insulin. I was literally just reading this online! Lol

  • I’ve been low carb for quite a while, maintaining weight but still  with a little belly. I gave up an adulthood addiction to diet soda 3 weeks ago and the belly is finally going away.
So regardless of being no calories, they do impact body composition.

Diet sodas/artificial sweeteners can cause an insulin spike in some people, but not all.  My advice is to try it and see if it affects you. If it does, then quit it.

If you ever lose the taste for sweeteners, you’ll throw rocks at all sodas & most juices... I gave it up way back when I learned what a coke will do to a tooth, a penny & health...

The less artificial sweeteners you consume the better, in any form. Add a lemon or lime wedge to your water and see if that helps.
