Substitute for bullet proof coffee?

I don't like coffee ( I feel like I am the only one on keto that doesn't drink the stuff). Is there something else where I can get the fats in the am without drinking bullet proof coffee?

  • You don’t have to drink your fat.  You can just eat high fat.  There are also teas and chocolate drinks people do instead.  You can find recipes on the net.  There’s no particular reason to do coffee except people like it.

  • I’ve been having normal coffe with unsweetened almond milks and just adding the brain oil to that.

  • I make herbal tea with butter and MCT oil - no caffeine Roobios Chai by Numi is tasty . I also love French Vanilla or Hazelnut Teachinno.  Dealing with adrenal fatigue and can’t have caffeine.  These two have saved me.  You can also just make super buttery scrambled eggs, yummy also if you don’t want to drink your fats.

  • Thanks for the great suggestions. I should have mentioned I'm trying to IM so no food in the am...definitely going to try the herbal tea!

  • A vanilla latte. Water,  MCT oil ghee and a good unsweetened vanilla powder( not a protein powder) ratio 2c-2tbsp-2tbps-1tsp blend. Can add unsweetened cocoa powder if you want.

  • I don’t drink coffee either but i enjoy a cup of hot water with ACV and lemon juice each morning. I may need to try a tea with MTC oil.

  • I've never been able to drink coffee so I've never done bulletproof coffee. I tried adding MCT oil to herbal tea but it made me feel nauseous so that was a no go. I also don't eat until 2pm most days and only want water with lemon or ACV in the mornings. Have to agree with everyone who said eat the fat and worry less about the bulletproof whatever.

  • Tea with butter and cream works well.  I do not drink coffee either.

  • As another poster pointed out, you do not have to drink your fat. My husband and have both had a lot of success on keto without bullet proof coffee. I don’t understand how people tolerate the taste of that crap. I normally take a caffeine pill in the morning that is equivalent to a cup of coffee and then BCAAs to get me through a fasted workout  If your worried about not getting enough fat in your diet, then google some recipes for fat bombs as that is the exact purpose of fat bombs. There is also the option of taking a tablespoon or two of mct oil every morning. MCT oil is completely tasteless. Although the hardcore keto junkies swear on the stuff, again, my husband and I both have had awesome success without using.

  • linrenep my brother in law suggested tea since coffee keeps me up for 24 hours. I use a tasty Tazo orange tea and add one tablespoon bulletproof oil and one tablespoon butter from grass fed cows. I do it first thing in the AM and last thing at night. Works wonderfully for me. Otherwise I’d never meet my fat goals.
