Favourite self education finds please add to 😀

With so much to learn I was so grateful I found this forum with such generous time & experience gifts’. I have noticed a strong trend in many questions being repeated, I didn’t read enough before starting myself ~ but some people are really in the dark & I don’t think they will stick with it as a result. Along the lines of help but in a relaxed way I thought I would list some YouTube & Websites I found useful.

Please add to the thread if you can as the more information we have the more informed our choices can be. Thank you.

This is a link to an article written by experts in the Ketogenics field.

The Ten Defining Characteristics of a Well-Formulated Ketogenic Diet 317

    (From here known as WFKD.)

With so many confusing and differing views about how to eat properly on a Ketogenic diet, this might be a timely reset to get us all back on the same page, allowing for individual differences of course.

Some of it is heavy going more especially for new members (and me!) but with such expert input, I really believe we should all make the effort to at least read and discuss questions... perhaps see you over in Keto chat.

I found I was adding waaayyy too much fat to my diet. Dr. Berg turned on the light for me. I am following his advice and am losing 1 pound per day. These are the people I follow on YouTube; Dr Berg, Dr Ken Berry and Dr Boz. There is a Dr Benjamin Bikman that gave me my new mantra

    CONTROL CARBS

    PRIORITIZE PROTEIN

    FILL WITH FAT

Now I stay below 5g of carbs, with 40g of protein and without adding any fat I am at around 60-70g of fat   You can also read up on Dr Fung.  He is a specialist on insulin resistance.  It all makes sense to me now.

Jay Wortman explains in depth why carbohydrates lead to obesity and how being obese leads to eating more and moving less. This is not about will power, this explains why we can’t stop eating and why our bodies need fats. Long but stick with it.

After I read the book "Grain Brain" I knew low carb was the way for me! It goes way beyond losing weight although I'm sure it'll be a pleasant side effect.  It's a must read. I listened to the audiobook version
