Fiber?

Fiber?

Hello friends on the keto diet, I am having trouble getting enough fiber in my diet. How are people getting necessary fiber and keeping the carbs under control.

  • I personally use Flax Seed Meal. Got it in the health food section of my local grocer. I just sprinkle a bit on my eggs, veggies, meat... a little bit has no taste really. I also "thicken" homemade bone broth with it. Works for me :-) Good luck!

    Hi Greg, yep l love Pinterest recipes n before after pics and Dr Berry MD and Dr Berg.   Could not have succeeded on Keto without them.   There is so much bad advice out there, have done lots of research and these guys are amazing.

  • Several keto gurus recommend not counting leafy greens and cruciferous veggies against your carb limit. I eat lots of these.

    Kevin EarthSoul I'm planning to switch to that for maintainenance, I miss broccoli.  Heaping piles of broccoli.  Lol.  But I'm sticking to regular keto till I get within sight of my goal.  I eat 3c of spinach, 3oz avocado and 6oz of cauliflower or zucchini most days, with tomatoes, cucumbers, jalapenos, onions and mushrooms squeezing in from time to time.  I save a few carbs every couple of days for 2-3oz of tomato.  It'll probably be every day in the summer, a salad with no tomatoes is no salad at all.

    I now take Metamucil everyday, just for an added boost to my intake.
