checking in.

really confused lately, listening to videos and podcast, everyone seems to have a different opinion on keto. Sigh, trying to stick to the basics. I'm having low blood sugar symptoms and just feel bad, tired. Tried adding protein, limiting protein, up and down on fats, salt pills, everything I can think of.  Low carb, zero carb, can't find that sweet spot where you feel energy.  keto for over a year.

  • Hi, if you are in Facebook, look at “the Keto zone”. Dr. Colbert is great about answering questions like that with great advice and links to specific issues. Good luck with it all. Be sure to like and follow him if you ask anything.  PS I have nothing to do with the page👍

carolmotsinger Do you have a blood meter ? If you don’t I highly suggest getting one. This makes me curious why your feeling poorly as I will be heading to the 1 year mark in May I think. Did you loose a bit of fat so far? Maybe your wheel needs tweaking?  I’m almost wondering if adrenals are sluggish or thyroid? If you can get a checkup with some basic labs, thyroid, cortisol level( which isn’t basic but I would definatley ask for it) and electrolyte tests. One thing I just bought was a urine PH kit, I’m not sure how accurate they are but my PH is really fluctuating around the 6.0 mark which is acidic. See, meat is acidic to our bodies and I had a period of time now I haven’t been focusing on veg, just to lazy or not hungry much. If your not taking in a bit of veg, try to enhance the day with a bit more, and I think you would see almost immediate results if that was the issue. Also try apple cider vinager organic mixed with something to get it down. 2T maybe twice daily if you can. It almost sounds like a round of keto flu- maybe a healthy carb up is needed but I can’t remember if you were Keto or low carb. A healthy day or two of carb up might be a resolution- if you haven’t been doing those at all. I’m finding I have periods of sluggish also and I started taking thyroid helper supplements along with beef liver caps and adrenal support, I think it’s helping but can’t be for sure. Depending how strict you are following your carbs, maybe it’s just time to increase them but with higher index a tad for a few weeks then come back to what you were doing ?

  • thanks. I did lose 23lbs, in the first 2 months then stalled, been stuck ever since. I have tried many things to break teh stall. I keep getting stricker, and feeling worse. lol. I think I need to step back and try to go back to what I was doing at first. More veggies, even thought the carbs are there and just more food. I started a self care journal and I am going to focus on stress reducing and try to just eat when I am hungry and not stress over counting or weighing. I know stress makes me gain. I need to stop obsessing over it.  I have had my thyroid checked and is fine. I have always been low blood pressure and sugar.  I would start checking levels but don't want to poke my finger lol
