Opinions on my diet please

So I work at a Italian restaurant and can eat free food, so that’s we’re i plan on cooking all my stuff, anyways this is what I’m thinking about my diet..

number 1, my food has to taste good.. I can’t eat food that I don’t like, I like to eat :(

anyways this is my plan, I’d like your guys intake

i skip breakfast and go straight to lunch around 3-4pm, my lunch is a side salad with ranch, I know ranch is fattening but I like ranch and think ranch isn’t gonna hurt that much, anyways side salad with ranch and a meatball for my lunch, I honestly think that’s 400 calories at the most, most likely I’m thinking 300 calories? Idk

and then finally for my dinner I’ll cook a chicken breast, put red sauce on it and melted cheese, it taste pretty good, and I don’t think it’s that fattening.. the melted cheese I guess but I think it’s a little sacrifice for it tasting good which we’ll make me stick to my diet more, and I think my dinner will be like 500-600 calories at the most?

And if im still a little hungry, I’ll have a 90 calorie yogurt or an orange or something

thats pretty much my plan for my diet.. and yeah I still wanna drink soda, what do u guys think?

I think ill I’ll be having no carbs, my food will still taste good, I’ll be eating under atleast 1100 calories a day

I’m a young dude so maybe that’ll boost something for me to lose weight faster as well?

I don’t just plan on eating that everyday, salad for lunch yeah probly, cus I like salads but for dinner maybe like a lettuce wrap burger or something

anyways what do y’all think, is this diet okay and maybe some what effective?

Let me kno, thank ya

So while I have been doing strict keto, my husband has been following a lower carb diet instead. He's really not counting carbs, just eating better and cut down on alcohol (he doesn't drink soda). He lost 12 lbs in about 1.5 months and is at his goal weight now (he really didn't have much to lose and he is in pretty good physical shape). So I think you'll probably find success in that. I would watch the soda though. Maybe limit that to only a few a week. Instead of the low cal yogurt which is full of sugar, try almonds or full fat greek yogurt with some berries. It will actually help keep you full longer than the low-fat stuff.

I hope it's going well for you so far... how are you feeling?

I started out just counting carbs and have gone 'keto' and I tend to be super-strict, track all my food, and keep my total carbs <20-25, net carbs <15.  (no sodas, not even diet, no fruits other than maybe a few berries, etc.)  My hubby, on the other hand, is waaay more flexible, just cutting out his snack cakes/candies/cookies (while not counting or really eliminating any other carbs).  It's a journey, and we all go about it our own way!!

Check in and let us know how you're doing.

ps - BTW, there's a yogurt I enjoy that's called "Two Good" by Light and Fit - has just 3 total carbs - it's a thick greek-style yogurt in several flavors... I've found blueberry, vanilla, berry.  There may be more, that's just all I've seen.

That doesn’t like enough food lol no offence. Salad dressing won’t hurt , Caesar dressing is only 1 carb for tbls. I can’t kick pop out i drink diet ones hasn’t hurt me but it’s your choice. Italian restaurant is where you work? You can have the antipasto, grilled meats, seafood lol.

With a couple of substitutions you ve got this.  I think u r confusing calories restricted diet with keto.  So, IF is good, skip the ranch, use good quality olive oil n chopped basil for dressing.  TherestUrant May use infused oils.      Chicken breast good, skip red sauce, not sure what that is ?  You are top heavy protein, not enough fat, which is the essence of Keto.   You are doingAtkins.   Oranges not keto, yogurt can be tricky.   I suggest you watch Dr Berry you tube.   I’m sure you can do this, with a lot of planning.
