Gained a pound!

I should file this under the "No Progress"  forum but I couldn't find it....So frustrated and depressed...I was determined to kick start my weight loss this past Monday having put on a few pounds with the pandemic quarantine.   I decided I'd power walk/jog twice a day 3-4 miles each time except for Thursday when I did 1 walk.

My Carb Manager settings for weight loss have me at 2121 calories for a -25 deficit...maintenance goal would then be 2828...

Here's the 4 days:

Monday 1981 calories - 1178 burned = 803 net calories Carbs = 121 of 211

Tuesday 2171 - 1547 = 624 net calories Carbs 175/211

Weds 1763 - 1440 = 323 net calories Carbs 148/211

Thurs 1922 -746 = 1176 net calories Carbs 224/211

Now, simple math that is all over the internet says 3500 calories = 1 pound.  My total burned calories = 4911.  So if my calculations are correct mathematically I should have lost 1.4 pounds.

Oh, and by the way, my scale is a $200 precision machine (not bragging but eliminating scale flaws)

The weight gods are testing me....back before the pandemic I was around 210-212...started on Monday at 222. 4 today I weighed in at 223.6....Whisky Tango Foxtrot, I'm exasperated...Can anyone explain the math and why it's not working?

Depressed but determined...Thanks for any help in advance

Pffft...1 pound gain is no biggie.  Big weight swings are normal for me.  Also #1 - If you suddenly started exercising, you might be retaining a little water as your muscles adjust.  Also #2 - if you had a little more salt than usual...water retention.  Keep after it.  The needle will move in the right direction.  Good luck!

Don't get discouraged. I found my greatest improvements came when I focused on health and fitness rather than the number on the scale. My weight loss was far from linear with numerous small ups and downs, but the general trend was in the right direction. I stalled over the same five pounds for about three months, then suddenly started losing again and have dropped 10 pounds in three weeks without any significant change to diet or exercise. This has happened before where I lost weight for a couple months, stalled for a while, then started losing again. Right now, I'm up 2# from where I was last week, but I'm not sweating it because I know that, as long as I stick to the plan, I'll drop that again plus more.
