Protein

Does anyone ever go over their protein macros? I tend to make sure I never go over on carbs, but I’m not that strict about protein. Am I sabotaging myself?

While you might improve your results by not going over proteins, an extra gram or two protein now and then isn’t as bad as an extra carb here or there.  It’s more important to stay at/under your carbs and try to hit your fats.  (And if you’re carrying excess bodily fat stores, you don’t need to strictly hit your fat macro at first - your body will burn fat stores to make up the difference.  Once you get close to your goal, it’s more important to keep your fat macro up).

Over proteins might well become a problem issue if you’re consistently going over or going way, way over.

Just try not to make it a habit and don’t get after yourself if you do.   Remember: it’s a life-long experience and not a daily pass/fail pop quiz.

Hope this helps and good luck.
