Hello

Hi time to get serious!.... I've had carb manager for ages but never done anything with it as I'm not technical so found it complicated. Today I'm doing my best to get my head around it all. I've been weighed this morning :( and I  have to sort my life out once and for all! so I want to really get into keto. I was diagnosed T1 diabetic Jan 2020 just before the first lockdown, wasn't good timing as routine appointments had to stop. After watching lots of YouTube videos I believe Keto is the way forward. I have tried on and off to do low carb but never seem to get beyond a couple of weeks before my cravings make me crack ..(chocoholic).  After spending the last year dealing with hypers,  correcting, and then at times having to deal with hypos I've decided enough is enough, I can't spend the rest of my life feeling how they (hypo/hypers) make me feel so its time to take control......I just hope this positive feeling stays with me.

I have just logged my first breakfast... greek yog 125g, chia seeds 15g & walnuts 6g... was shocked to see just that is 14 point something net carbs....WTF think I'm in for a shock :(

Welcome Lizzy. Cravings definitely test one's commitment level and it is, in my opinion, the biggest reason many fall off the diet wagon! Its twice as hard when you have family that are not on the diet and can eat whatever they want! Fortunately for me, my family at least helps by eating the yummies behind closed doors and in secret. Still, ever so often I do get bad cravings. I have found that if I treat them like the cravings I had when I stopped smoking I had better success at control. When a craving hits, get busy with a project, go for a walk, call a friend to chat about anything but food etc. Also, making a snack plate with a couple of pieces of bacon and some crisp veggies help. Just make sure you stick to your macros.

As for the tech issues, please feel free to ask on the forums; there are so many great folks here there is sure to be plenty of help :) Also, I found this YouTube video that has a tutorial, it was done last year but may help some.

Plus, I noticed a lot of other videos on YouTube that may be of help as well. :)

Good Luck, I know you can do this!
