Celery juice and NCCDB

I enjoy juicing straight celery for health benefits. I find it hard to believe that Carb Manager shows 8 ounces with only 1 carb (NCCDB verified). Almost every other database has 6 carbs per 8 ounces. I even looked in NCCDB, but couldn't find it. It appears they are counting the fiber, when in fact the fiber/pulp gets tossed. Thoughts?

  • Some of the food was put in by regular folks. If there is a big difference on something I am looking at I edit it and save it to my food

  • debra06201374ad  Thank you. I just found it very hard to believe only 1 carb in that much celery juice. And I have no idea how it got verified by NCCDB. I have gained five pounds in last two weeks from drinking 16 ounces a day...so ouch.  No more (or very little) from now on! Thanks for your response.

  • nadinaschulte4190 I read up on since your post.  I bought a juicer and used it a couple of times, but considered it to much work :).  My horse loved the pulp ;0

Thanks for your post! I planned on celery juice to help with constipation but my juicer is packed away. Please keep us posted on the benefits and weight changes. I would have expected weight to go up after the initial carb shock and then go back down.

  • Showthyme Actually, I stopped drinking the celery juice and have now lost two pounds in four days. Once I stabilize, I will introduce it again but about four ounces at a time. I really do not have room in my 20 carb day limit for more than that. ;)
