Depends. I’ve done Keto for 10 months. When I hit a plateau or have a cheat day I do a fat fast. 1200 calories with 80% fat

at2871 Interesting, how long do you do this ? And does it seem to work ? Still in major ketosis?

badmojomn usually 3-4 days. My Ketosis levels didn’t change but I’m kind of the mid pink color most of the time. I lost 2 lbs. I should get a Keto monitor but using up the test strips first.

at2871 I would be curious to see how a blood meter looked but that's good. So, is the fat coming off still - not by scale but jeans, etc, do you cheat all day on the chest day? Or just like one meal?

Jeans definitely fit better. My last cheat was Thanksgiving and the day after. So I needed to get back on track. I only have about 8lbs left to lose so it’s going slower

at2871 Oh dear ! That's all you have left? You you please message me your ht/wt now and a typical day of eating? I would apprechiate that. I'm gonna try something from someone who doesn't have much left to take off. 😊Seems like that last few are the most difficult.

badmojomn I’ve 18lbs to go unless I have blown it on holiday eating hidden things in restaurants ~ I google translated into 4 languages a little hand written note saying that I cannot have anything with sugars or honey using ~ Diabetic ~ so they would take it seriously 😂🤣 made a few laugh so I guess the translation wasn’t perfect.

Back to the point!  I was going to add I am interested to see how you both get on as in another 10lbs I’ll be in the same “club” ~ loving having collar bones again already 😍

Joanna I'll be honest, im struggling with some sort of whoosh effect. My water retention is through the roof at the moment.  I was down 3-4 then up - rollercoaster time. Puffy fingers most days.

Joanna Yes I am. Swelling mainly in my fingers. But I have a "slip" it will be wide spread. I have had water retention issue most of my adult years anwhow but I can know that it's less often on keto.

  • badmojomn Hi, I've had that same thing happen to me. It turned out to be food intolorance to 29 food. It got a lot better when I took those foods out of my diet. Now that I'm doing Keto it's back in my hands. Not sure why.

  • I had mine done through blood work. Eggs, Chocolate, Yeast, Brocoli, Ginger, Sesame, Rape Seed (Canola Oil) Radish, Salmon, Black pepper to name a few. My doc suggested I have it done. It was about $300 bucks but it was worth it. I can have some of the foods once in a while now and I'm fine. The lab is called Immuno Labs in Ft Lauderdale.

Karenac11d4 lol. I'm way to far from Florida to have this done. What's the test names maybe my docs can figure it out. I read somewhere about night shades also can effect some people.

  • badmojomn oh oopsie! Should have clarified. You would have your doc send in the blood work to the lab in Florida. I'm not sure if it's a kit or what. I'm in California and my doc suspected I had food intolorances and ordered it. I think if you call the lab they could give you some help on finding out how to do it through your doc.
