Thanks for letting me join this group.

Hi,  My name is Kay.  I started another very strict diet at Christmas (normal low fat...  one lettuce leaf and a prayer type dieting).  I changed to keto at Easter, and wow!  After the initial, “There’s no way this is going to work.” I am now a convert and losing weight.

I have been yo-yo dieting for 50 years since my mum put me on my first diet at the grand old age of 6.  All I did was eat less and get heavier.  I would get so excited if I lost 50 to 100gms per week.  Now I’m losing about a kilo per week!  I’m not hungry, tired, and only normal grouchy (not hungry savage).

Anyway, enough about my background.  Here’s the nitty gritty.  My start weight was 156kg.  I am now down to 138.4kg.  Which to me is brilliant.  I want to get to 72kg, a little over my ideal goal weight, but I’m old so I get to decide.  When you think of it I have to lose a whole human!  (No, I don’t mean divorcing hubby!). This is the first time I have shared my weight with anyone...  including hubby or my Dr.  (I can’t see your faces, so I feel less self conscious here).  Most of my life has been one big circle of self judgement and snide remarks from my those who don’t understand.  Finally after all these years, I feel like I’m winning.  Thank you for putting up with my rambling.  It feels great to know I’m not alone.

Low-carb dieting is so much better than that lettuce and a prayer crap! and I am old enough to decide my own best weight as well though I to have nearly a whole person to lose. I am at my highest weight ever of 267 lb. I can't wait to see Onederland again, I will feel so much better.
