Anyone beginning to stress about Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is always at my house and I am beginning to stress about it already. I’ve lost 15 so far and don’t want to go back. My blood sugars are way down which was the reason I went Keto in the first place. Are you all planning to give it up for a day? All those goodies are so tempting.

  • Stress no. I'm looking so forward to it that's my cheat day. I've been on keto for 7 months now cheated 3 times then right back to keto. Down 65 lb.  Celebrate with the fam then back to buissnes the next day

I don't plan on a Cheat day. I too am hosting thanksgiving, and will provide some starch, but mostly protein and vegetables for my guests. Historically, if I over eat on thanksgiving I feel terrible for a few days. This year, we will do a fun walk in a wetland area before the eating commences. Find a local turkey trot and get a new perspective on what thanksgiving can be. #gratitude #community #family

5 seconds in the mouth is so not worth giving up all you have achieved.  A mouthful of stupid stuffing is not worth it.  Talk to yourself and stick to the turkey and drippings, and make yourself a cabbage dish you like and also keto bread rolls you can have, with cream cheese or whatever you like in there.  Hope that helps.  Stay strong you'll be ever so glad you did.

  • It’s Wednesday night and I am still on the fence. Thanksgiving is at my home and I am having all the trimmings. I have not decided if I’m going to dive in. It probably won’t be my best day. My biggest concern is cheating and then falling off for good.

This is my plan of attack for Thanksgiving Day.  I'm going to abstain from the rolls,  stuffing, etc.  throughout the day.  Then I’m going to eat my favorite piece of pie  (peanut butter, I know it’s not a traditional dish) right before I go to bed.  If I eat a Thanksgiving meal at noon, I will end up eating my way through the day.  Does this sound crazy?  Yep!  But it works for me. Do whatever works for you.  And have faith in yourself that if you cheat, all is not lost.

I made a complete turkey dinner with 2 kinds of pie for my family today.  All I eat was turkey, gravy and celery with cream cheese.  It was kinda depressing .  Glad tomorrow is almost here!

Make the pie with Swerve instead of sugar and just don't eat the crust.  Skip the stuffing and have a ginormous decadent salad, and make yourself that roasted cauliflower mashed with sour cream to have instead of the mashed potatoes, looks just the same and you're golden!  You can do thanksgiving!  What point is it if you're not thankful afterwards????  Stick to keto and you'll be thankful you did.
