Why did I GAIN weight yesterday?
Hi all! I have been on the keto diet for 1 week now. So far I have been losing about 1lb every day which is amazing. However yesterday I actually gained .8lb. I weigh myself at the exact same time every morning and I have been following my macros perfectly every day. I don't know what I did wrong. Seeing the scale go down has been my main motivator, but now seeing that increase makes me want to quit. I can handle not losing anything for a day or 2, but to actually gain is concerning. Help!

Firstly, you’re welcome. Secondly not really. I took the time to read your question, reply, post encouraging links that would build your education and knowledge about your own body - I did my ironing, cooked and ate dinner, took a bath and completely watched them. I am nearly at goal, I guess it depends how badly “you” want this for yourself.

Keep in mind that 1 lb/day in the beginning is primarily water leaving your body & that will not continue as you progress into a ketogenic State. Plus, it is Perfectly natural for your weight to fluctuate in either direction on any day.
What you want to pay attention to is the trend your biomarkers are moving in. In this case you are looking at the biomarker called weight. If the trend is going in the correct direction, then you are doing fine.
