I've been doing a terrible job of trying to get on Keto. But with the last week I finally got the discipline to stay off the carbs and get my macros in line.

I am 51 years old, 5'6" and weighed 189 at the end of last week. On Sunday, I went hardcore Keto, trying to keep below 20 grams/day. I have been using Sated shakes at least once per day, supplemented with some peanut powder and avocado oil to bring them up to about 700 calories and to give me  a good jump on healthy fats.

I weigh in every morning, and take blood sugar readings since I am a diabetic who's on 1000mg opf Metformin, twice per day.

In three days, I have lost a bit over three pounds, already feel more clear headed and less achy, and have the energy to exercise. I alternate a beginner running program and a body weight routine every day. I won't say it's easy, but it's easier than it has been in the past now that I am boosting fat intake to make sure I am not hungry late in the day, which is when I would binge.

My goal is 150 lb, but I am not in a rush. I made it to that back when I was 42, by dangling a new motorcycle to myself as a prize fro losing 25 lb.

But I'd be happy to lose ten pounds more, to get to 176, by the end of  October for my daughter's baptism. That would let me fit in my custom wedding tuxedo with a tiny bit of a squeeze.
