Good question, but get your popcorn ready.  There seem to be a lot of MCT fans.  I've tried the MCT oil, but with all the talk about avoiding processed foods, I'm going to try coconut oil and see if I can tell a difference.  I don't see how MCT oil is anything but very processed.  Also, big cost difference.  Nutrient wise, they are about the same.  Time will tell.

MCT oil is just a hyper concentrated coconut or palm oil, essentially giving you a shortcut to 100% Medium Chain Triglycerides, where as coconut oil only contains about 45% - 65% MCTs (and the remainder is lesser grade lauric acid MCT).

I use coconut manna - I hate the taste of coconut and coconut oil is just too strong for me.

I just tried a cup of coffee with chocolate MCT oil added.  I couldn't taste the coffee or any of the chocolate from the MCT.  The next up of coffee I made only 8 ounces, not ten like the first, and I used the same amount chocolate MCT oil and also added a package of sugar free chocolate mix.  I didn't taste the coffee, but I could taste the chocolate.  Not too bad and it wasn't awful, so I could at least drink it!

I was going for the chocolate mocha flavor both times and never achieved that.
