Cholesterol confusion
In a nutshell- keto for 5 months. My keto involves very little dairy and animal fat, mostly nuts/Olive oil and avocados as my fat source with Lean meats (very little red meat) eggs couple of times/week, lots of veggies -did blood work last week to see my cholesterol is high(6.6) my LDL (5.1) is really high, HDL(1.1) is slightly low triglycerides (1.1) really good. I've lost 35lb in the past year so I thought I was on my way to great health.. Apparantly not so much. I'm feeling very discouraged right now. When I track my micro nutrients in carb manager I usually hit around 70% of recommended cholesterol. I feel like I can't win for trying??

Your body also needs fat in order to produce cholesterol! (not many people know that). Cholesterol is tied in with your hormones, and your hormones need fat to be produced optimally as well. Perhaps take a look at your fat intake and determine whether a.) you're eating enough and b.) whether it's primarily omega-6 (it can be inflammatory if too much is eaten). More importantly, keep going! Don't stop! You've had such great success so far, you just need some tweaking. :)
