30days on keto, only 2lbs down!!!????? Feeling like quitting.

Can anyone help me with what I'm doing wrong here?????? I'm 31yrs old, 5'5" and 165lbs. I eat about 20net carbs a day, usually around 18, and usually no more than 1400 cal. Fat is 114g and protein around 70 ish i think. My typical day is bfast: 3slices bacon,half an avocado and 2 eggs, lunch: tuna and mayo in either romaine or 5carbs mission tortilla wrap. And dinner baked chicken in mayo, and 4oz of zuchinni noodles, in olive oil. Sometimes ill have a home baked dessert like keto blueberry muffin usuing no much more than almond flour, coconut oil, eggs, and stevia. I drink 8bottles of water a day and i havent started intensely working out yet. Just basic walking etc. PLEASE HELP.

    I suggest reducing your daily calories to 1200, your carbs to 15, or 10 if you can manage it , and trying intermittent fasting. Reduce your eating window to 6 hours a day, cut out either breakfast or dinner. Just cutting out one of those two meals should cut your calories down to 1200. Also I know you said that's your typical meal and not that you have that daily, but just be sure you're not eating the same thing over and over again. Seems to me like that's a lot of mayo, you might want to try switching it up and having some coconut oil or fats from other sources.

    Another thing that you cannot have to much of is protein.  Sounds like you may have a lot in the sample diet.  Especially if you are not measuring.  I found that in order to stick to my protein, I needed to remove a meal.  Protein has been the hardest thing for me to stay within. Good luck

    Google a free calorie calculator and figure out how many calories you need to lose a pound-at 165lbs eating 1400 calories that is only about half a pound a week. Cut to 1200 or less.

    Are you still feeling hungry at breakfast time? A week after being in ketosis, I was not even hungry for breakfast anymore. Agree with Moondrake below on reducing calories. I am 5'1 SW was 176 CW 156 and I'm also 31. I've been on keto for 5 weeks.  I do net carbs of 15 or less and 1200 or less calories. I do IF several times a week as well, no working out yet.

  • Also, make sure you are in ketosis. Try getting the urine testing strips. If you aren't in ketosis, you won't be in fat burning mode.

    I would test Foods for reactivity.  Romaine can be a reactive food.   If you are reactive to a food it will cause inflammation preventing you from losing weight, or cause you to gain weight.  Google “The Plan”, you can read about it.
