New to low carb life

Hi everyone, I'm 59 and up until a couple of years ago have never had a problem with weight. I'm very active and never really had to formally exercise due to very physical jobs, and hobbys. Then I retired and we moved to the suburbs (from a rural area) to help take care of my granddaughter. Well, to make a long story slightly less long my change in lifestyle along with hormone changes that come with my age it caught up to me and I put on about 10 lbs.  Where I used to drop 5 lbs without even trying dropping a lb is now a struggle. I've tried different diet changes and exercise routines without much success, including low carb, which I had trouble sticking to. I'm still really active between playing with my granddaughter and hiking with my dog 4-5 days a week but it was not enough. So, I decided to give low carb another try and found a really good strength training routine. Carb Manager has made all the difference in the world, I can see exactlywhat I'm eating and track my carbs throughout the day. Three weeks in and I already see a difference in that little annoying  belly roll -- YAY. This is something I can do, for good, for life, as I age I can stay fit, trim and healthy.
