Vegetarian keto in Arizona

Good day!  I started using CM in February, when I decided it was time to drastically reduce my carbohydrate intake.  Like so many people, for too long, I believed  high carbohydrate/low fat was good.  Now I am fully doing keto and getting to my intro.

About me:  long-time vegan (since 2004).  Prior to going vegan, I had done Atkins for about a year (it never felt right to me on any level.) Prior to that, I was vegetarian for many years. During those years, my diet was pretty much a typical crappy SAD, just without the meat.

Content with my body weight and more focused on overall health.  I am working to firm up a bit (increase muscle mass and endurance, and decrease body fat).

Why keto?  I explored both Paleo and keto. My interest in keto was piqued when I learned  that it was originally designed in the 1920s as a treatment for epilepsy — and that a well structured keto diet drastically reduces inflammation.  I experience migraines regularly.  I have also read many pieces that cite chronic inflammation as a causal, or at least contributory, factor in many chronic health conditions.

When I realized the major difference between keto and Atkins/low carb, I decided the keto lifestyle was doable for me and decided to do it.

While my significant others are supportive of my choice to do this, I don’t know of any other people IRL who are doing keto.

Anyway I’m happy to be here, and I’m looking forward to seeing how my body responds.
