Calorie deficit question

I have found myself being an average of -1000 calories a day. I have been reading online that I should only be -500 calories a day for effective weight loss. Could this be a reason why I might be plateau-ing in my weight loss?

I feel like I’m eating enough, and I don’t eat after 6 pm so I’m a little fatigued at the end of my day. But other wise during the day I feel great.

  • Yes that could be why.  Your body may think you are in starvation mode and will hang on any fat for dear life (pun intended).  Even a -500 deficient may cause you to plateau.  You may need to play around with your macros to find what works well for you.  I've found about a -200 works well for me.
