Cholesterol

Hi! I’m new to a the app and the keto diet. Looking for help regarding my cholesterol intake.  I did pretty well so far ate enough proteins and fats, but I noticed that at the end of the day I had a 272% in cholesterol. Any advice? Or is it normal?

thanks

  • I would think that is not bad. Your body naturally makes A LOT of Cholesterol every single day, and if the cholesterol is coming from good sources it is not going to harm you to have more good cholesterol in the body. As long as your foods are not toxic (which in keto they normally shouldn't be) you will be fine! Keep pushing through and remember to always keep learning about the topic!

  • Along these lines, about 3 months into Keto I asked my doc for a lipid panel test. She agreed and the results showed that cholesterol, LDL, and HDL all rose out of normal range.  The Chol/HDL ratio was in normal range so I was satisfied with the effects of the Keto diet (good fats eating bad fats).

My question is this...How can I tell from my daily stats Details, that I am keeping within the “safe” zone or ratio for healthy fats? Is it as simple as Chol/ monosat + polyunsaturated?

Can anyone provide info on this or lead me to a website?  TIA
